I just have an interesting question to ask. Let's Say you have your sword of protection and value out (or whatever trigger Maybe your Daretti or Shadowmage infiltrator etc.) If I have no blockers and am within lethal range of an attack from you is it still spite if I scoop as a sorcery? Is it spiteful if everyone else has blockers? Cause if it is still spiteful than your rule does nothing, if it isn't spiteful than you are a hypocrit.
If Reveillark combo is a thing people are trying, is Murderous Redcap worth it for infinite damage plus it can be good to get off of/sacrifice to Evolution.
Now, each of those interactions is a fairly minor additive effect to a deck, however it is made possible since fetches run such a small opportunity cost.
Here's a question: Couldn't one argue that cards like the moxen are banned in part for that sort of reason?
No Moxen are banned because they are 1000+$ taxes on anyone playing any deck.
You say you're meta is shaping but to be more competitive (stronger decks) where would you say everyone else is (what decks do they play, combos?, ld?, Stax)
I usually like having 5-10 spot removal spells with a major focus on efficiency. Instant speed only (I'm of the opinion that Vindicate is terrible because it can't interact with a combo. I've lost too many games when I'm unable to kill a splinter twin'd creature or Hermit Druid with useless vindicate stuck in my hand.
Btw I think the blue removal spells Pongify, Rapid Hybridization and Reality shift are great and better than most of the black spot removal spells. (Generally 3/3's don't matter)
As for cards specifically to deal with artifacts and the enchantments I usually only run 2 or 3 (less if I have access to Mortify or Puterify or Beast Within etc. in my colors. The only card I'll universally run here is Krosan Grip (a lot of blue in my meta makes this the best one to break up combos)
As for what you should specifically run it depends on the deck, meta and you're play style. Certain decks I build barely follow these rules others follow it to a t.

Woah woah there buddy, says who?
Its just a fact. How can you enjoy hyper competitive matches when you lose? All that stress and effort you put into it only to not come out victorious... I have seen players just walk out of a store because they lost in a hyper competitive match. meanwhile, i play games and lose and smile and shuffle for a new game.
anyone who says one way of playing is better is wrong. I'm sorry you've had bad experiences but to say your way of playing is empirically right is absolutely wrong.
I feel I may have started the ol Sol Ring debate this time around and for that i'm sorry.
As for the Moxen, if they never existed and were suddenly printed in BFZ or something id say they're fair game, the ban list isn't made for hyper competitive players. That being said, according to SCG they're currently 1000 bucks for the unlimited versions of them, and they're better than sol ring 99% of the time. If you own Moxen good for you go play vintage.
