I wouldn't keep your hopes up. The only thing this combos with is balance of power, wich aint such a great card to begin with. If you aren't playing standard and you want to use this card (all two of you wackos out there in the world) use putrid imp instead. It's just common sense people!
Actually, yeah, I was being sarcastic. See, because Akuta depends on you having more cards in hand than opponent, and One With Nothing discards your hand, that will pretty much never work.
Yaah, I know, I was too, I was just waitin' for someone to notice and post that little tidbit.:evillol: Great minds think alike.
Lion's eye diamond just got better, compared to one with nothing, that is.
HaHaHa. I wouldn't be suprised if this post gets moved(it started in the 'what cards just got better' thread).
putrid imp!putrid imp!putrid imp! curse my imputent hands and their ability to coerce my mind to spell bad commons instead of good ones!Curses!
anyways, yaah, akuta, born of ash does have some great synergy with one with nothing. Seeing as one with nothing is the best discard outlet in Standard right now <sigh>. Unfortunately that really is the only synergy it has in standard, and akuta is legendary anyways, so no swinging for 6(+) with 2(+) hasties. P.S- Mirror gallery is a little slow.
Just curious, why is most everyone leaving out Murmurs from Beyond? Instant speed draw that gives you 2 in hand? Sooo much better than jank like Adamaro, O-Naginata, Sakura-Tribe Scout, etc.
Murmurs from beyond is an okay card, but generally the opponent will take the card best suited for your situation. When your playing MUC you have so many other good card drawers, ones that don't involve your opponent's choosing your cards. Anyways, While we still have Thirst for knowledge this card will be outclassed. When Mirrodin slides out however...
I agree with Force of Phil on the infernal kirin. kirin has a good ability that can take out cards in the midgame, and he's got a good sized body + flying for his mana cost. As for Tomb of Urami, it's good and bad. There are lots of ways to get rid of it(rend spirit, hero's demise, creature sac effects, and bounce), then there's the fact that you 'geddon yourself to use it, and of little consequence you take damage from it. You do get a big flyer though, and in most situations this puts your opponent on a short clock. Oboro is good. you get a land that is impervious to LD(if you don't tap out) and a mana fixer. Yuo can also get some 'wisdom' stuff out of it. Also, for both the lands, the legendary effect is felt less, as you can get around it with both of them. All in all: infernal kiriin good, tomb is conditional, oboro is an all round good card. YES!!!POST 69!!:weird3:
this is the card to break open 'spiritcraft'.
The casting cost/body size ratio may not be impressive but he does have soulshift. Most importantly this guy is a 'LANDcestral recall', drawing 2-6 cards on average, in his first three spells. He couples well with loam dweller, and in a deck running both of them plus kodama's reach you can easily pull every land in your deck by turn 5!(trust me, I did it)
This card is one of the best cards to come out of this set in so many ways. first it just reeks of power and oozes with flavor. Secondly it's very balanced, your opponent can't cast it on turn 1 or 2 and actually get anything good out of it. Thirdly it only has one black mana in its cost so it isn't exclusively black. Lastly, Damnations is just a nice word.
A lot of people say this card sucks, but skepticallism is inevitable with any half-life payment cards. The biggest thing with this card is getting your opponent on the ropes before playing it. I don't mean staring own a shield of kaldra equipped kokusho, with 4 thief of hopes, 5 cards in hand and 18 available mana! Just a slight advantage. You can always give 'em cards with a chunk out of thier life points and follow it up with an attack, or discard spell, or just take the cards for yourself, just set it up well, put some pressure on your opponent and your laughing(maniaclly that is!)
there are so many ways to make this an armageddon, and even more ways to make it one sided. Sweep <cough>. Any self-respecting red deck could easily hamper their opponent just by casting this on turn three or four.
People are booing this card back into the stone age because of mana issues. Really, come on. sasaya isn't just a heartbeat of spring, it's a rapid caffeine-induced hummingbird heartbeat of spring, and that's nothing to scoff at. When you get 7 lands in hand(hello sweep!!hello hand size matters!!) you can flip sasya whenever you want, in response to an unfortunate situation, or keep her as a creature if you need her.
finally, thank you wizards, pull your ass out of the fire. here's a card to stop the jitte, and others. And, bonus, it has another ability in case your opponent is running something with no equipments(or you blew 'em all up).
wish there was more 'target player draws a card', oh well in a set where hand size matters you could get a lot of situations where this is disgustingly big. heck for casual throw in howling mines, etc.
I didn't put pithing needle because it isn't that great, and com'n who likes flavorless cards anyways.

Ah, Sarcasm, what would life be without you.

one with nothing is like a Lion's eye diamond that costs mana, and doesn't give it back.
ichorid, nether shadow, nether spirit, akuta, born of ash, krovikan horror, and some reaniamtion cards/big creatures!!YAY!:smile2:
But alas one remebers Pit imp, and sighs...:slant:
ah well, at least there are some commons in the set that should be uncommons/rares.

1.Elder pine of jukai.
this is the card to break open 'spiritcraft'.

2. Choice of Damnations
3.One with nothing...Just kidding...Pain's Reward
A lot of people say this card sucks, but skepticallism is inevitable with any half-life payment cards. The biggest thing with this card is getting your opponent on the ropes before playing it. 4.Thoughts of Ruin
there are so many ways to make this an armageddon, and even more ways to make it one sided. Sweep <cough>. Any self-respecting red deck could easily hamper their opponent just by casting this on turn three or four.
5.Masumaro, First to live
Twice the number has such a great ring doesn't it? Playing this in a land searching, sweeping, or soratami deck could easily make a 10/10 or bigger.
6.Sakura-Tribe Scout
mana accel, chumps. and oh yaah... Scout + freed from real = fastbond.
7.Sasaya, Orohchi ascendant
People are booing this card back into the stone age because of mana issues. Really, come on. sasaya isn't just a heartbeat of spring, it's a rapid caffeine-induced hummingbird heartbeat of spring, and that's nothing to scoff at. 8.Seek the horizon
the other LANDcestral recall. PS- mana fixer, hand size matters.
9.manriki-gusari
finally, thank you wizards, pull your ass out of the fire. here's a card to stop the jitte, and others. And, bonus, it has another ability in case your opponent is running something with no equipments(or you blew 'em all up).
10.Adamaro, First to desire
wish there was more 'target player draws a card', oh well in a set where hand size matters you could get a lot of situations where this is disgustingly big. heck for casual throw in howling mines, etc.
