Trample is now far from what it was originally designed to do and banding is now more powerful than ever.

This reminds me of the morning after pill debate. The pill and other birth control of that type makes an egg unable to attach itself so it can develop. The morning after pill makes an egg unable to attach itself so it can develop. So if you take it before you have sex it is okay but not after sex? Although trying to get rid of birth control all together makes more sense than that it is still dumb.

  • posted a message on Savannah Lions - Rare?
Many cards have gone up to being rare in the core set. Hypnotic Specter and Serra Angel are a few. Some go down like Web, but web sees very little play to begin with and has little effect on the game. Savannah Lions sees lots of play and has a big effect on the game, that is why it is rare and should stay rare. Unlike Watchwolf it is a first turn card that doesn't require more than one color of mana. For white to have a 3/3 creature it would cost more like 1WW.

For a card to go from rare to uncommon there would have to be a very good reason. If a card sees high play it is very unlikely that it will be printed in a more common spot.

I had the feeling that the new split cards would be guild splits. Very powerful and interesting. Hope all of them are this good.

  • posted a message on Power of Science: The Leidenfrost Effect
I find science tricks, bed of nails and such, very interesting and this was a very good read. It shows how a person can put their hand into boiling lead, walk on hot coals, and put liquid nitrogen in their mouth, no one should try any of these tricks.

  • posted a message on Global Warming: How bad off are we?
Global Warming is a waste of time worrying about. For one it is a natural event that is going to happen no matter what we do. The sun's heat is moving outward causing Earth to warm. We can blame ourselves for this but that won't do anything. Another thing people say that we are worst than ever for enviromental conserns but think back to the industrial revolution and you will see if we caused global warming it was back than not now. Another thing is that Earth is a very complex system that "breaks" and "fixes" itself. We have had warm periods followed by ice ages followed by warm periods, we may have another ice age in the future, it is impossible to tell for sure.

Unless I remember incorrectly the first 6 are the 1 unopend and the 5 opened.

Yes they do fall off, that would work for any enchantment unless it was a White Ward

Loxodon Gatekeeper is a slightly weaker Kismet being open to creature removal. Still I think it is a very good card that should see some more play as it is a great tempo disruption.

What makes belief in Christianity or Islam different from belief in Fate?

The difference is the first 2 were in acts of courage while the third is an act of fear. When you accept "fate" it is an act of fear, you make no effort to change events. If "fate" is going to kill you it would do it if he got the operation or not.

  • posted a message on [DIS] Gobhobbler Rats (English Scan post 251) and Hellbent
With Hellbent being a keyword ability instead of a mechanic I wonder if there may still be a keyword mechanic for the guild. As an ability we won't get any instants or sorcery spells that use a guild mechanic. Just a thought.

  • posted a message on What would you do for a Power Nine?
Well I paid $350 for my Black Lotus I plan on buying the other P9 at some point. I think most people wouldn't mind eating a few pieces of paper for $300+. But opening an Alpha booster would be dumb. For one you can see the cards inside the early packs and for 2 the unopened pack is worth more than the cards inside of it.
