Banned because it wins seemingly out of nowhere. No other criteria mentioned.
While other cards also meet this criteria, it seems they leaned on the fact that it requires little deckbuilding focus to be effective.
I believe this is the first card to be banned because it wins seemingly out of nowhere since Coalition Victory. I do not know if this means other cards will start being more heavily considered for banning... but that seems like the logical conclusion.
Certainly shocked, that’s for sure. There’s precedent now for similar cards gaining traction for potential bans. Tooth and Nail being the first card I think falls into a similar category.
You know that tooth and Nail can be sued to tutor anything else that isn't combo right? Tell me what does Paradox Engine offers other then straight up combo? Untaping a couple of mana rocks to add more mana? Woow.
Tough i think they could have explained more the reason why it was banned, but now people aginst the comitee will twist their words in this and used it as more ammuntion.
Giving your team pseudo-vigilance by casting a spell after the attack step. Being able to use cool tap abilities multiples times. Untapping stuff that doesn't during your untap step.
I played with a few friends tonight and one of them is playing mardu dragons. I had a lot of trouble vs him because of Crackling doom and his own foul-tongue invocation. Does anyone have suggestion on how to deal with those cards because i dont think its realistic to wait till 8 or 9 mana to cast our dragons.
Do you mean mindswipe? And winning once with it doesn't really prove a lot. I'm betting there are cards in standard that do what mindswipe does, but more efficiently.
I played around with it and this is my version of it. I just dumped the twinflames and went all out on the Altar of the Brood as the only wincon. It works suprisinglt well and i find it to be more streamlined.
I understand how you mill your whole deck, but i dont quite get how you generate infinite mana and get your dork really big, i know it has to do with dragon mantle but could someone please elaborate.
As someone whos looking to start in modern, this is perfect for me. I've never played B/W tokens and it looks really fun. And TBH, i feel like 75$ is just the right amount im willing to pay for this.

Secure the wastes doesn't help vs crackling doom though. Not sure it's worth if you're only bringing it in to deal with foul-tongue invocation.
