Perfectly legal, acceptable, and unadventurous. Even the names are boring and trite! At the same time, raising the temperature also means there's more room for mistakes to creep in. Many of the cards are just fine, but some leave you with more questions than answers. I've identified three rough categories of mistakes and oddities that you're likely to see, as exemplified by these cards:
1. Cards that are legal but onerous in their specificity.
Master of Dawn G
Creature - Human (Rare) 2G: Regenerate target creature. Activate this ability only during your upkeep.
1/1
#Hurray for debilitating restrictions! This looks like an attempt to make an ability on an underpriced creature "fair".
Actually, this is not that bad, simply because a Regeneration Shield lasts until the end of turn, it's not like you have to activate Regeneration in response to the destruction, even though that's usually the best way to do that.
As for Green Post and Convoke, I'm a big fan of Sprout Swarm. It's an army in a can type card, the more turns you have to use it, the more saprolings a turn you get.
If you don't give an exact decklist for any of your ideas, I can't really give specific notes.
Sorry to disappoint you, but there is no Portal in MTGO, thus both False Defeat and Breath of Life are not legal. Reanimation is still not the best idea in Pauper, when you can simply play Post and ramp into these fatties while not being distracted into doing something counterproductive.
Why is Vish Kal "Master of the Many"?
And is there bigger rule over someone than to decide when his life ends?
And that is exactly what Vish Kal does, for both mine and mine opponents' creatures.
There are several directions I think this deck could go, and I can't really decide which one to choose.
Suggestion about which to package choose and what to change in it (changes in main build are not impossible too) are welcome.
Note though, that I'm not willing to spend more than 10$ on a single card, unless it's going to improve the deck a lot.
The most crazy Play in EDH i've played:
We were playing 2HG EDH wit Glissa ( me) and Mimeo on one side, and vish kal along sisay on the other.
They've just doubled they're life with beacon and cast storm herd for about 100 pegasuses
We were without any defense and at about 10 life.
We look at our last draws.
And they were: Black Sun's Zenith and Grim Feast.
We also had a three counter Bloodchief Ascension.
We won with about 200 life.
I rather think (supported by a lot of testing by Cockatrice) that BUG is the way to go.
UG just doesn't have the removal that it needs (Ambush Viper is less than satisfacting) and RUG can't really deal with big threats any better (and against a lot of little threats too unless maining slagstorm)
After a few days of intensive testing I've come to conclusion, that bUg is just so much better than either UG or UGr, simply because black has more reliable mass removal, and better point-removal than red, and definitely better than green or blue, which both have none (aside from Beast Within, and Ambush Viper, latter of which certainly can't be called reliable).
Here's my deck, I've came up with, I'm still not sure about the split between Doom Blade and Go for the Throat, I think I'll cut the Blade in favor of 3rd Throat, simply because all artifacts I want to destroy are... Inkmoth Nexuses. Also thinking of adding single Negate instead of Blade
Azure Mage has performed excellently in control matchups, and even against aggro he's another card i can just trade by blocking.\ Phantasmal Image, is the card I'm keen on cutting, cause it's often a dead draw, but on the other hand when it proves useful, it's winning games.
I've seen the MTGO deck some time ago (about 4 days), and I've got to like it very much.
Major reason is that it's budget-friendly (yup, I don't have the money for Snapcasters or Garruk) and it plays very smoothly. After few twists of mine (I've tested it intensively over Cockatrice) I've came to this decklist:
4 Phantasmal Images often resulted in dead draws; opponent barely had any creatures for me to copy (that's the point anyway) and when i had flipped Mayor or Delver, I usually was winning anyway.
And what's funny, I'm winning with Delver more often than with mayor, simply because Delver is faster and more reliable.
I still have 4 slots ready to be filled, and I'm not really sold on disperse, It has not worked for me. I think I'll just put in 4 Ponders.
Also, what do you think of splashing black for Doom Blades/Go for the Throats?
Any suggestions?
Note, that this is deck to play online (OCTGN) so budget or card avilability problems are nonexistent.
PLEASE, anyone, help me with cutting those 60 cards cause I really have no idea how could I cut so many so useful cards ;/
