a 3/1 with flying for 3 that makes a single card more expensive....
should be nice on limited.
doubt it will be making any noise on constructed.
This is a huge colour pie bend though, it's basically thoughtseize in white, on a body. There is nothing about that for Azorious and Jeskai mages not to love. Yes the body is fragile, and sure it's only one card but a virtual 2-for-1 should never be overlooked. It may be closet to Kitesail Freebooter and that this g sees a bunch of play in a color with better options.
It's not Thoughtseize on legs, it has a one-shot Thalia, Guardian of Thraben-style tax on legs. It's not a 2-for-1 - all it does is slow down tempo. If it didn't have Flying, I probably wouldn't consider it for Modern.

Should provide a very helpful reprint method in the future both to help with much needed reprints and also to help boost the value of standard in-print sets, both of which have been issues of late.
I remember the Amonkhet Masterpieces reception on this forum was primarily that we were tired of the Masterpieces reprint method and its happening for consecutive sets drained away its impact. The Amonkhet Masterpieces having an unclear, if any, overarching theme and being to the unreadable side didn't help.

So thats why he isn't shrinking in price and growing again.
I believe that was sarcastic. Vorinclex is in one popular standard deck as a one of. That deck is not a superfriends deck.
Also, one more issue: isn't a prefect a student? 'Cause based on the Wiki, Kasmina probably isn't.
Yeah, a prefect is a (high-profile) student. If the Harry Potter series is any indication, prefects are below Head Boy.
I'd love the portion of The Art of Magic: the Gathering - War of the Spark that, according to the Wiki, says that Kasmina is a cabal leader and a forcible recruiter, though.

Because I see Innistrad in Katakana on three of those Booster Boxes and their corresponding boosters. Both top rows. It makes perfect sense to have the word in the logo only in English, too, considerring they use very particular fonts for those, but the second row from the top shows Innistrad in Katakana on "Set Booster", "Draft Booster" and "Collector Booster" boxes.
The alternate version below almost certainly means these are different iterations of the design anyway, right?
The Kanji also spell out "Midnight Hunt", so that theory is confirmed, this is all pertaining to the Werewolf set. It never seemed likely to me personally that Either of the two sets would totally eschew any of the other major tribes of the plane. It's probably just going to be a larger focus on a main tribe.
I actually wouldn't mind seeing some characters getting two legendary cards across the two sets (you know, counting the main set, not just precon-deck versions/promos). Something that shows different aspects of a character the way Hustli changed across Ixalan. Maybe with a more memorable character/role than Huatli; they definitely got outshone by Vraska/Jace and even Angrath just not being another Human helped.
I'm always happy to see supplemental set planeswalkers making their appearance in the main series.

By now, that would be Portal #4.
My apologies; I initially assumed there were no pictures beyond the bottom booster boxes and their respective boosters since those were the only ones that displayed on my iPad and the only ones that appeared in the link for me (even if the link versions were blurry as all get-out). Stuff not displaying on my iPad is kinda unusual for me since it displays pictures properly that my laptop refuses to display.
Feb 1, 2021Lectrys posted a message on [KHM] Ban Coming? (Hint: Tibalt's Trickery is Lame)As someone who's tried various builds of the Modern Tibalt's Trickery Cascade Combo deck, I don't think the deck is ban-worthy. The builds with Simian Spirit Guide, 8 or more Cascade spells, and multiple maindeck Tibalt's Trickery suffer from flipping SSG and Trickery instead of bombs disturbingly often. The builds with 1 Tibalt's Trickery, 4 Cascade spells, and majority lands are distinctly slower than the SSG builds to the point that you risk getting killed by opposing decks on Turn 3 more often such as Oops All Spells, Burn, and Colossus Hammer Time, and not only perform distinctly worse against targeted discard and counterspells than the SSG builds, they are also nearly unable to fix those matchups post-board unless they use transformational sideboards.Posted in: The Rumor Mill
I haven't tried the Standard deck, but it might be a sign that not a single copy of Tibalt's Trickery is in the Top 32 of any of the two MTGO Standard Challenges since Kaldheim cards were released there (unlike the MTGO Modern Challenges in the same time period, which actually have Tibalt's Trickery Cascade Combo decks in the Top 32).

Even as a "fair mono-red counterspell with a downside", I can easily see this saving the butts of so many Modern players hitting an opposing Ad Nauseam with it, as that deck is so spell-dense that chances are the opponent will hit anything but Ad Nauseam.
For maximum comedy value, hit an opponent's "Oops All Spells" win con (Goblin Charbelcher, Undercity Informer, Balustrade Spy) with it.
If you can rig your library to have 3 lands and your desired card on top, Tibalt's Trickery will still let you cast your desired card.

"perpetually" effects? Just use anything as counter or marker, it's not that multiple counters with rules baggage or things that has to be tracked by being writed on a piece of paper (like the Conspiracy cards or any "choose a secret opponent" card) doesn't exist already. We even have already the emblems and all the cards with "Until the end of game" texts like Praetor's Counsel or Stigma Lasher for "perpetually" effects to track for the game.
I am sorry but perpetually effects could not work in paper.
If two card with the same name are shuffled from my graveyard into my library and one of the lm perpetually has flying, the game will know which one has flying when I draw it. The fact that a perpetually altered card can keep its specific traits even if it is moved into hidden zones where opponents cannot verify that you are not cheating is not replicable.
It IS doable. For example, just put an easily removable mini-sticker on your front card (or more likely, your protective shield), and you and your opponent can recognize it without actually have the marker visibile in non public zones. My god guys, I've seen much more worse and more convolute situations in EDH than this stuff, I can't believe me and my playgroups are the only genius that have literally no problem handling this situations because are already legal much worse complicated effects combined in EDH, while you all seems to not be able to handle such things. You are confirming that are right the ones saying that Wizard need to "dumb the game down", because seems that even eternal players can't handle what at my eyes (and the ones of my playgroup of friends) is perfectly doable without confusion, because we've seen much worse going on on EDH games.

I believe "mana value" includes mana weight, ie how much color to how much colorless, in addition to numerical value. I mentioned "cmc" because only going 4 deep has 14 different values this can can tackle to return the life total to the starting life total.
Nope, mana value is a new term replacing converted mana cost, that's it. Mana cost and mana value are not the same thing.
Jun 30, 2021Posted in: The Rumor Mill
That is not actually true, if you are using a fair dice. There are 9 numbers from 1 to 9 and 11 between 10 and 20. So it is 11/20 for the good outcome while only 9/20 for the bad part

But otherwise, if you ever get to use it, the worst part is to get stuck on lands (you can at least play 1, but the 2nd is bad).
For a 6-drop thats pretty bad.
You're looking at this all wrong. If there's a land on top of their deck you choose not to play anything so they draw a land for their turn. Xanathar is a one card Lantern lock.

Good old Blood in the Watering Can. I'm still a bit sore over Waste Not getting in over that one.Quote from Lectrys »This seems to make Zombie tokens relatively easily in Modern (play a shockland, tutor for a shockland with a fetchland, maybe cast some Phyrexian mana spell or cycle Street Wraith or have Bob out).
I swear I've seen a contest entry almost-card named "Blood in the Water" that similarly turned your life loss every turn into resources in that contest that Waste Not won.

yeah..... Pyrokinesis actually does see fringe play in legacy if you think about it.
