Hi Feast, sorry to say your mana base looks crooked to me. Fully half of your lands make your opening hand unplayable, 12 out of 24 come into play tapped or offer colourless mana, thats just to much i think.
Ya as I said I have been using mostly U/G to run this deck where the opening hand was dream twist/shreikhorn/ponder. I kinda just threw this together to try to demonstrate the inkmoth idea. The better part of the deck was a mash of the lists I have seen posted here up to mine. Their is defiantly a lot of work that could go into it.
@bearsman6 I know that we don't have the primeval engine but mulch can grab it for us pretty quickly. As for the equipment in the slight amount of testing that I have done since the original post I havn't had problems getting it in my hand. when you mill and you put one in your graveyard that is when you slow down on the mill from mulch unless it is all you can do. switch to controlled mill from looting. remember that between elk, mulch, and looting my deck it gets thinned pretty fast so I am drawing only what I need.
!!!PLEASE NOTE EVERY ONE READING THIS POST, I AM NOT ADVOCATING TO USE THIS COMBO AS MAIN WINCON. IT IS A LATE GAME ALPHA STRIKE THAT CAN WIN THE GAME IN 1 TURN IF YOU HAVE ALOT OF CREATURES IN THE YARD. I STILL BELIEVE THAT SPLINTERFRIGHT IS THE BEST WAY TO WIN!!!
I have been spreading the usefulness of Inkmoth Nexus in the U/G thread and I believe it has fallen on deaf ears. It may take better here due to WRR. In U/G the only thing for it was Bonehoard. In R/G their is Kessig Wolf-Run and bonehoard. With a card like Mulch we are guaranteed to pull out lands. What if those lands become a win con or secondary win con? It doesn't take much to win with nexus, and wolf run can also be used to make our other finishers like Ghoultree have trample. Both of these cards can serve a second use but if both get online together they win. I am currently cutting down on lands and trying to put in Fling and Postmortem Lunge but this is a basic idea.
Something I havn't seen in this thread is Inkmoth Nexus. It can win games if it has the proper support and I believe that this deck has that support. You can dig it out with Mulch since it is a land. Lay down a Bonehoard and mill out 9 creatures, which is the basis of the deck for every win con it has. For 3 you can animate and equip to make Inkmoth nexus a flying/infect Boneyard Wurm. Turn 5 win if unblocked and lucky mill.
I know shane and probaby alot others is already running Despise but what about all in control in early game? if you can grab a garruk or Koth or snapcaster mage why not Surgical Extraction it. I was also wondering if we could run any number of Gut shots so not to use all our powerful kills against tiny things and same them for titans and the like. It also has been proven in a pinch to deal with Inkmoth Nexus and can take down a turn 1 delver pre flip. I will be seeing how this can be done with my own testing but I don't have access to a very large play group so I normally just play against what should be the optimal draw for the deck I'm testing against.
