I don't see how or why they wouldn't give this primer status. It should have already been, super helpful/informative on all fronts. Really appreciate all the work you've put into this.
Is Green Sun's Zenith still worth it in this deck? Not sayings it's a bad card by any means, just wondering if loseing primetime and Terastodon bring it down a bit.
I've been trying to understand this for a long time but Just can't. How can an Azusa deck run so much land and yet be consistent? I play an Azusa deck with 34 land in it and more often then not I'm drawing to much land. Could someone please enlighten me on the subject or point me in right direction.
So i've been useing this deck for a little over a month. I have almost the exact same list as Blackjack. It has just been really hit or miss and often finding my self top decking. I was finally able to pick up a Ghost council last night and holy crap did that change my whole game. Super impressed with how well he functions in this and at how hard he is to kill. feels like a brand new deck and just wanted to say thanks to Blackjack for starting this thread.
The mana curve definitley needs to come down on it. More artifact ramp would go well with a land destruction theme. I'm not sure if the extra equipment would add much, not saying they arn't good and wouldn't help. Maybe you could try some steal and extra attack phase effects?
It's probably more operator error than anything else. I'll take some time later this evening to post the list though it is largely similar to Burt Gummers/Michael Gross's aka Blackjack.
currently running a slightly different build with Vish as the general, unable to aquire a Ghost council at the moment. deck is just under performing all over the place. Had a few questions if you've got the time.
1. When you get a tutor in your opening hand is there a certain card/type of card you normaly try to go for? assuming you don't already have it.
2. Are there any cards that are just dead draws to you, if only sometimes?
3. If you don't combo out do you normaly win or lose those games?
Seems like Wrexial, the Risen Deep would be ok with it but still just the same as any other i guess. I like the flavor of it but application would be difficult.
The deck has been severely underperforming lately. I only ever have mana to cast one thing per turn getting an early land tax never seems to make much of a diffrence other than keeping me on par with land drops.
I will definitley get Serra Avatar the next chance I get.
As for the Threaten effects. I used to run a lot more than are currently present in the deck but Brion would never stay out long enough for me to use it properly. I wouldn't have enough to cast threaten and to through or Brion would just get killed. It is very clunky still and I just can't seem to tune it up to a fast paced life gain beat down that I want.
