you have a LOT of ways to destroy enchantments and artifacts, but not a single board wipe that I see. Fumigate? Rout? Martial Coup is great in Karametra because you can make X like 15.
don't play a signet in a Karametra deck
Whitemane Lion is B U S T E D in Karametra. (There are other similar cards too.)
Let's say I only have one creature that has died this turn when my Caller of the Claw resolves. However, because of shenanigans, that same creature has died 100000000 times this turn. (I'm looping a Myr Moonvessel in and out of play with an Ashnod's Altar and a Havengul Lich.)
Am I correct that I only get one bear? Or do I get 100000000?
Hey everyone, I'm brewing a Sydri, Galvanic Genius deck and I'm hoping to pick your brains for a moment. I've never really played a dedicated combo deck, so I have some questions regarding how many of each category of card I should include. I should say upfront that this deck is NOT intended to be a tier 1, win on turn 4 competitive deck. (I don't have the budget for stuff like Mana Crypt or Grim Monolith anyhow.) Instead, it's meant to be a fun, Rube Goldberg-esque tier 2 deck with a lot of different potential combos. Ideally I'd like to be able to win with four different combos in four different games.
Again, this is just supposed to be one of several combos in the deck (although stuff like KCI and Disciple play well with many of them), but how much redundancy would you ideally include? Two of each piece? Three?
My other question concerns protecting my combo(s). Of course there's Silence and Grand Abolisher. There's also slightly clunkier options like Padeem, Consul of Innovation, and Leonin Abunas. Then thirdly there's counterspells. How much of this kind of stuff would you typically include?
So my absolute favorite deck waaaaay back when I was in high school – this was during Urza block – was monogreen elfball featuring cards like Recycle, Priest of Titania, Rofellos, Llanowar Emissary, and Gaea's Cradle. What's below is the first draft of my attempt to port that deck to EDH.
This may be a little different than your standard EDH elfball deck, insofar as what I really want to achieve is a kind of "big turn" engine with stuff like Recycle/Null Profusion, Soul of the Harvest/Primordial Sage, elves (duh), and off-the-beaten-path stuff like Tangleroot. Damia, Sage of Stone is my commander partly because her colors let me play Edric, Spymaster of Trest and some good GB elves, partly because of her good interaction with Recycle/NP, and partly so that I can refill my hand and avoid the dreaded "ramp to nowhere." In addition, please note that I'm trying to run as few "good stuff" cards as possible (e.g. counterspells) because my aim is really the "big turn."
Right now I'm at 76 nonland cards, which means I need to make about 12 cuts from the cards below.
I want to make a fun, casual deck that runs cards like Secret Plans and Ixidor, Reality Sculptor (in the 99, I mean) but Animar is too strong (and too expensive) for me. What are some good options?
For example, how many creatures with +1/+1 counters on them would you want to run before considering Inspiring Call?
Assuming your commander has no triggered abilities, how many cards with triggered abilities would you want to run before considering Strionic Resonator?
Since Ad Nauseam "combos" with anything and ought to be banned, take this with a grain of salt, but in a really land heavy deck AN + Manabond is really insane ramp.
Seriously, has anybody ever given this card a try? A one drop 5/3 with trample is no joke, even in EDH, and in my meta, at least, artifacts usually come down early and in multiples. (The only downside seems to be that it's a "punisher" card, but 5/3 trampler or "don't play any artifacts" seems like a brutal choice.)
I find it weird that a seven drop with no built-in protection and no ETB effect would be considered unfun because it's too OP. (Sheoldred)
I also think it's weird that a two card combo that only nets you a 20/20 flying, indestructible creature – and doesn't win the game quickly at all – would be considered "so OP it's unfun."
RUN MORE SPOT REMOVAL! Clone it! Steal it! Exile it! Make them sacrifice it! Bounce it!
As for what I don't run because it's OP, it's pretty much only Ad Nauseam. That mess seriously needs to be banned. (I also never run DEN, but mostly because it's boring.)
Does this combination go infinite – infinite mill or mana, that is? Thanks for taking a look!
Am I correct that I only get one bear? Or do I get 100000000?
Anyways, my first question has to do with redundancy. For example, I'm running Salvaging Station + Flayer Husk + Krark-Clan Ironworks, which generates infinite ETB triggers, infinite mana, and infinite death triggers. Combined with Disciple of the Vault or Altar of the Brood, this combo can do infinite damage or deck all opponents. (Flayer Husk can also be replaced with Origin Spellbomb, which in turn makes Ashnod's Altar a viable replacement for KCI.)
Again, this is just supposed to be one of several combos in the deck (although stuff like KCI and Disciple play well with many of them), but how much redundancy would you ideally include? Two of each piece? Three?

MANA ELVES
UTILITY ELVES
CARD DRAW
GOOD STUFF
WRATH PROTECTION
LANDS – 35 of 'em
If you notice an obvious omission, like Eladamri, Lord of Leaves, Glimpse of Nature, or Heritage Druid, it's for budget reasons.
