I finally hatched my first shiny! Got myself a shiny Ralts with 31 IVs in HP, Def, SpA, and Speed. Gardevoir has always been one of my favorites, and shiny Mega Gardevoir looks absolutely amazing. I'm just a little extremely happy.
The chaining I was talking about it chain fishing, not the Pokeradar. It's new to this generation. It just requires you continually fish in the same spot and fish up Pokemon. It doesn't even need to be the same Pokemon over and over again, so long as you fish one up. Reeling in too slow or fast, or not getting a nibble breaks the streak. The longer the streak, the more like it is a shiny will appear. It's pretty easy. Just grab something with the Suction Cups or Sticky Hold ability and have good reaction time.
So... I tried out the whole chain fishing for shinies thing last night and, long story short, I now have a shiny Clawitzer named Unit 02 and a shiny Starmie I can't think of a nickname for. I'm... I'm so happy...
Don't forget about that +2 attack boosting Power-up Punch! Seriously, Mega-khan is ridiculous. Making myself a Mawile afterward. That thing's raw attacking power is just... silly.
From what I can see, you have all the components there, you're just having some bad luck. It's always extra annoying when you need a specific ability out of three possibilities, but just keep truckin'. Trust me, I'm right there with you right now. I'm trying to get myself a scrappy Kangaskhan, but they can only be female, and I really don't want to breed a male something just for this, so I'm stuck with a 3 IV Ditto. You'll get it eventually, don't get discouraged.
How does one go about calculating exactly how many EVs you will get from a Horde battle? And also, when you switch out your Pokemon, it still gets the EVs after the battle, right?
Calculating how many EVs you'll get is really pretty simple. For the purposes of my explanation, I'll assume you're using a power item and have Pokerus.
First, you find out the EV you need, and a corresponding horde Pokemon that gives it out. Pretty easy using one of the major sites like bulbapedia or serebii. I'll use Zubat for this example. Zubat gives 1 speed EV when defeated. Now, power items always add 4 EVs to the base total of the defeated Pokemon, so now you're at 5 EVs. Then, anything with Pokerus will double that base value of 5, giving 10 EVs from that one Zubat. Then, since you're killing 5 at once, you'll get 50 EVs in one fell swoop.
Or, simply put, the equation is 2(x+4), where x = the Pokemon's EV given when defeated. Then multiply that answer by 5.
Another thing, power items will give their corresponding EVs regardless of the Pokemon you defeat. So, using that same Zubat, if you defeat it while holding the Defense-boosting power item, you'll get 1 speed EV and 4 defense EVs. So be careful.
Also, the Pokemon never even needs to participate in the battle as long as you have exp. share on. As long as it gets experience from the battle, it gets EVs.
Does anybody IV breed? I have quite some number of IV bred Pokemon that I'd like to trade for others that I need.
I am. I just got my 5 IV modest/magician Fennekin for my team and I have a 3 IV Beldum, Ralts, Eevee, protean Froakie, and marvel scale Dratini ready to be upgraded to 5 IV awesomeness. If you want one of those, let me know. I can get you one once I finish my own.
No problem. I'll gladly trade it to you if you want, I have a few and can easily get more. Also, did you need the rest of your friend safari figured out? I noticed you only had one pokemon listed in yours.
Hey all! So... I have no idea what kind of friend safari I have, so if anyone would be willing to help me out and me, I'd be much obliged. FC: 1435-3659-2019
Also, I'd love to have access to a Ditto safari, so anyone that can help me out there would be a gentleman and a scholar. Thanks in advance!
