Late to this, but I absolutely 100% disagree, and I will personally eviscerate anyone who tries to put a Godfather (or miller) in a Basic. -

Nachomamma8 posted a message on Three Little Pigs Mafia (Game Over - ...and I'll blow this town down.)I really enjoyed playing w/Tom, Proph, Fable, Axelrod, and Vaimes in this game! Tom I loved whatever weird interactions we had going on and I liked your counterclaim a lot, was pretty smooth <3. Vaimes I loved you for being the only person to listen to me on Tom and I loved making Tom jealous in our also similarly strange interactions. I don't know if you noticed me change my title to "the bad witch" immediately before you flipped scum but I had a pretty good chuckle at that one. Proph, I liked our early interactions and I liked out late interactions, you were one of the few people who put up with me and had very kind responses when I was being a jackass and I'm deeply appreciative for that. Fable I was impressed by how solidly you shrugged off me tunneling the **** out of you and then not tunneling the **** out of you shortly after; I thought you looked really really really town in this game which is why I think I have been so harsh on you at MU. Axelrod, I'm sorry for the way that I treated you in this game; I wasn't having fun and it showed plenty, I never felt like I ever took the time to respond and talk to you like you were town (even when I thought you might be town), but, you plugging along and being the only person showing consistent effort in by the end of the day was the reason I came back to this game even though I was immensely frustrated with it. I'm sorry that I ended up at the end biasing towards Tammy for dumb reasons; I had her as scum then I didn't then I did then I didn't but I felt like I was walking on eggshells with her after the weird exchange I had early game and I'm really really sorry I was such an ass to you because I know I was but it wasn't directed at you it was just directed at this game in particular.Posted in: Mafia -

It's EXTREMELY unfair for town to have an anti-town role with such a heavy posting restriction. Town rely first and foremost on behavioral analysis to sort townies from anti-townies, and when you design an anti-town role with such a heavy PR, you just hand out all it needs to dodge that analysis: all Cyt had to do was hide herself behind her role PR, and voilà: a mod-gifted pass to victory. "Oh are there any discrepancies in what she's saying? Nah let's just disregard it, she's making an enormous effort to communicate, we're prolly not getting it.". It's the obvious conclusion anyone would reach, to see that effort as a proof of township and never question her on it.
The insult to injury is to make it immune to my role to further enhance he behavioral analysis virtual immunity. And if she's indeed bulletproof, then I see no way she would ever lose the game. Her obvtown status would never ever be questioned by scum, and she would sail to the endgame unhindered.
Aside that, great game everybody. I had tons of fun and it was the best comeback to Mafia I'd expect from our community (bar the lurking but oh well nothing is perfect). -

Ecophagy posted a message on The Mafia Council & Helpdesk ThreadI'm sure many of you have noticed that the queues for both Minis and Normals are dangerously short. I'd like to run a PCQ-style open entry thing (separately for each queue) where people submit setups, we work together to get them built and reviewed, winners chosen by a combination of popular vote and judge panel, with all the games added to the respective queues with winners at the top. I believe this is a good way to encourage people to turn their ideas into completed games, spread cooperation, and generate some hype: all of which we sorely need.Posted in: Mafia

The scores right now on the first page are applied through xkcd. I did the scores for Avant-Garde but I'll do the Predator scores later this week and update the League with both.

Good game to the scum team. I've said multiple times that this would probably go down as one of my worst games in recent memory (next to Celestial and the other games I was playing that contributed to the trainwreck there) and it turned out to be true. I like to think that I have a decent view of the gamestate in basically all of my town games I play, and this one fell quite short of the mark.
I planned to write out a treatise about why I thought this game's design was bad, but I'll refrain from that since most of it will just be me ranting at myself. It's just, I don't know how Seppel expected us to hold up throughout the game. Days 1-3 were good because all of the townie energy was still there and we caught Wheat. However, as the Days went on, most of the townies (myself included) just checked out of the game, which allowed the scum to take advantage of the loss of pace extremely easily.
Pizza: You were a bright light in this pit of despair and you were a genuine pleasure to play with. I think the reason why I ended up townreading you at the middle/end of the game was because I wanted you to be town since you were the only one of us to not become apathetic as the game went on. Thanks for playing, and I hope we can play together in future games!
