it seems people have forgotten that other non-twin blue decks had a lot of game against twin. they were merely average at best against the rest of the field. you take away their biggest source of food, and the other decks (which were kept in check by twin) crushed the non-twin blue decks. wizards really screwed up the equilibrium of the uxx axis of modern.
going the classic route with that list. i like it. However, i still don't think feast and famine is the way to go with the sword though. i'm firmly in the light and shadow camp. i'm not sure how to think about the 4 cryptics either. on one hand, it's four cryptics. on the other, four cryptics..
oh baby, it's been a long time since i've been here. is AV necessary to play this deck now? i think the only way it's really good is if you stick it turn one or three, or manage to yahenni's expertise it. it's one of the absolute worst top decks too.
to answer why countersquall is good. Every little bit of advantage this deck can get is good. other decks very rarely roll over to it. if it wins, it's likely we'll be in the 5 life range. if i can accelerate them losing by 2 life, that might ultimately mean i've saved myself 2 or 3 life in return. it gives us a little more room to work with. plus it's great when you win the game with it as well.
well, to be 100% honest, i'm happy there are new decks coming around, but i am unhappy about many many more things. this is a the product of a format where the only deck that runs 2 cmc counters and has the ability to race the fast decks is eliminated.
Flagstones of Trokair is at or around $30 dollars at the moment and rising. I seen Copies last night for $18 this is a hard double spike it went from $10 to $18 and now to $30.
if anything, the results this week show that the format does need to be shaken up. the decks featured all have been around for essentially a year or more. lets unban them stoneforges!
