I feel like big red was an extremely strong deck, but lost its edge after Rite of Flame was banned. 1-2 Turning Koth's, Demigod's, and Calamities were insanely awesome, but not anymore =/

With so many current and future champs that have and will have gap closers, Karthus is not much of a defender of anything imo.

You have your own style obviously, but why would you remove both cards that give us an overwhelming advantage against aggro?

2 for 6$ and free shipping I'd consider a pretty good deal =/

The description you give is pretty much what FTV cards feel like. I've got a Sundering Titan from Relics right here, and it does indeed feel a lot glossier and a bit sticky. As mentioned above, the foiling process is significantly different to that used on other cards.

Thanks a lot for the info! I did some other tests and I'm satisfied with saying this is the real deal. Guess I just got really lucky picking up 2 for 6$

Hey guys, I recently bought 2 Form of the Dragon off Ebay for 6 dollars. The foil texture of the cards feel different from the rest of the foils I've seen/felt. It's almost got kind of a sticker feeling to it. Can anyone help me confirm the kind of texture that Form of the Dragon from FTV should have?

So far, W/R Ajani Control to be the most effective. Lightning Helix does a superb job of playing offensively while dragging out the game in your favor. I still like to run 2 Karn's for the end game win. Ajani's the main win con, but he does need a back up since his ultimate is a bit slow to get off.

Leyline of Sanctity should always be a 4 of auto include imo. With all the burn, discard, and other target player spells running around, it really does shut down a LOT of options. Beyond that, Ensnaring + Ghostly takes care of aggro. Regardless what we splash, the only weakness we really need to watch out for is our lack of early game since we lack the explosiveness of other decks like Zoo, combo, and affinity.

No, I'm pretty sure he means Grand Arbiter Augustin IV

Pretty sure there's no reason not to run 4 Vampire Nocturnus.

The thing about building a budget deck and a weaker tribe in Modern is that you have to have a great deal of synergy.

Mono black vampire decks are considered a mid range deck so what do you need to do?

Eliminate as much of your weakness early game. Having discards is great, but running Mind Sludge does almost nothing for you late game. Its a 5 CMC card and by then, most decks will have an empty hand by then. Of course it has its uses in certain situations, but rarely imo. My point being - If you're going to play a 5 CMC discard card, what else could you play in its place? Would rather have something else? For 5 CMC, I'd want a win con or at least a pseudo win con. Sort of like what you have with Eldrazi Monument.

My advice would be to keep the creature base aside from +2 Vampire Nocturnus and take out the 2 Mind Sludges. For budget, Sign in Blood may prove to be useful when you run out of gas and can't afford to buy those ridiculously priced Dark Confidants. Do consider running some Viscera Seer. Its block and sac with scry does help quite a bit sometime.

Riot staff confirmed that they will work with Lux. They're just scared that any changes will make her overpowered. They're going to make changes to make her game play more consistent. Can't find the exact thread though.

It's a double edged sword. It wins you games, but it can drag games out to ridiculous times. Testing this out and changing out some cards in my MWC version.

    +4 Sacred Foundry
    +4-6 Fetchlands
    +4 Ajani Vengeant
    +4 Lightning Helix

Might actually keep 1 or 2 Karn Liberated's in there along with 1 or 2 Mind Stone's.

4 Ghostly Prisons and 4 Ensnaring Bridges makes any aggro deck cry rivers of tears.

Pick Lee Sin every game and chance you get if you're good. If you have even a half decent team comp, it's hard to lose. I can solo top, jungle, and lane while playing pure AD burst or Tanky DPS. The flexibility is just amazing. Of course, that's when people stop banning him so much.

If you really want to carry solo queue games, I strongly recommend burst champs AD/AP either or. The early game advantage and moral boost will win you the game by complete stomp or a 20 min. surrender almost all the time up until around 1600-1700 elo.

AD carries like Ashe or Caitlyn are monsters late game, but they're reliant on the late game. Vayne and Graves aren't too bad early to mid game because of the burst built into their kit.

It's been a common consensus that NA players generally prefer big team fights and EU players generally like to move around and gank more. Of course this isn't always the case, but it's one of the reasons why Malzahar was a tier 1/top pick in the EU servers while he was a low to mid pick in NA servers.

I completely understand why you'd want to not use Arcbound Ravager budget wise, but in all honesty, without Arcbound Ravager, it's just going to be a subpar version. I'm assuming that if money wasn't an issue, Ravager would be in here. It's simply too much to pass up.

Seems like Ajani Vengeant's the way to go right now. AND SO MUCH CHEAPER TO BUILD!

I can pick up Ajani Vengeant's cheap and Sacred Foundry's can go for 15-16$ instead of Hallowed Fountains at 20-26$

    Thinking about it:

Ghostly Prison, Ensnaring Bridge, Lightning Helix, and Kitchen Finks is just...really hard to deal with in general.
