Hags have been mentioned for GW, and that's what I'm supporting at the moment. Traditional horror monster, and almost all existing Hags are one of those colors.
I could see a witch's coven, but if they do that I hope they go the dark route. Also, I'll be quite bummed if there wasn't a token reference to the Hansel and Gretel witch.
Doesn't make sense to me to have four tribes be monster types and the fifth be non-monster. More likely that the victims/hunters/etc. don't have any tribal component at all.
As has been said several times before. :T
If the choice is between hunters/gypsies and spiders, I'm picking hunters/gypsies all day.
I just can't think of any classical/mythical monsters that fit into G/W. The closest thing would be a "malicious prankster" type of monster, but that was done by the Faeries in Lorwyn/Shadowmoor. Maybe some sort of malicious tribe of Leprechauns... lol
Spiders would be quite lame, in my humble opinion. The other tribes are drawn from folktales, myhts etc etc. I can't think of any famous spiders from folklore.
I would be surprised if they don't introduce a U/G Merfolk into a later set, but for this one? I can't think of any W/G creatures that would fit in, unless they went into left field and created a creepy nature cult similar to something out of "The Wicker Man".
Wizards has said, both in twitter and on the Latest Developments today, that blue zombies in ISD will be your frankenstein type monsters, put together by science. So imagine cards like Sutured Ghoul and Frankenstein's Monster, but in blue.
Which I should note I did in my own custom set, but with the creature type Mutant...
I was wondering how blue, the most thoughtful of colors, would translate towards the most mindless of creatures, zombies.
Jinx Treasure
Instant - Trap (R)
If an opponent gained control of an artifact you own this turn, you may pay instead of paying Jinx Treasure’s mana cost.
Target player gets an emblem with, “At the beginning of your upkeep, you lose 1 life for each artifact you control”
Why make it an emblem? I think it'd be much simpler as "Controller loses 1 life for each artifact they control during their upkeep." (Wordy, but you get the idea.)
Cutthroat Cove
Land - Island
(: Add to your mana pool.
Whenever a pirate you control deals damage to a player, untap Cutthroat Cove
Hm... there could be some really wicked combos with this. It might be overpowered if you created pirates with direct damage capabilities (ie a prodigal pirate-mancer
Mastswinger
Creature - Ape (C)
Mastswinger has Islandwalk as long as you control a Ship.
3/3
I'm not quite sure the flavor/mechanics are working together here. How about Mastswinger has flying, to simulate swashbuckling battles on the sail?
The Horizon Seeker
Legendary Artifact - Ship (MR)
Pirate creatures you control have Haste, Islandwalk, and get +1/+1.
:The Horizon Seeker deals 1 damage to target ship.
I think the whole "ship damage" idea is neat, but may be a bit fiddly. And I think that the "tap to do damage to another ship" doesn't work well, since it only interacts with the other cards in your set.
You could always make it an artifact creature as well (perhaps the ships have some sort of sentience?), and the more pieces of equipment you attach the more of a bonus it provides.
I think the modularity of a ship might be fun to play around with, as long as it wasn't too complicated.
Hopefully R and D has a big time old school Nintendo geek in their folds, and we get a small shoutout.

I sure do hope we get a crossbow equipment.

Should be interesting.

Dracula - Black
Mummy - Red
Werewolf - Green
The Creature - Blue
Frankenstein - White (Ok, I know this fits the least well but it's a cycle!)
