I don't think I've EVER played an Avenger with the intentions of killing my opponents through damage from the plants. That's just dumb.
These plants fuel Gaea's Cradle, Regal Force, Skullclamp, Ashnod's Altar, Goblin Bombardment, Vicious Shadows, Earthcraft, and much more.
This. I think I've won a total of 2 times with AoZ beatdown in my Wort deck. All the other times I'm using the tokens to fuel card drawing or mana generation for a giant Banefire/Comet Storm.
Black/Blue is also a decent color combination if you have Homicidal Seclusion, since it gives you additional ways to turn it on via the various blue bounce spells, Lone Revenant, and Alchemist's Apprentice.
I used to have a Riku deck (since switched to Animar) with Kiki-Jiki/Pestermite combo in it, and my favorite cards to get were Snapcaster Mage, Tooth and Nail, and Regrowth.
I'd have to say Falkenrath Exterminator. If he goes unchecked, he just takes over the board. I was living the dream last week when I soulbonded him to Nightshade Peddler. Definitely first pick material.
And as one poster mentioned earlier, this format can be fast if you draft it correctly.
I lived that dream last night my LGS. It was short-lived, as my Peddler ate a Human Frailty, but I was able to ping a Demonic Taskmaster before that happened.
Wandering Wolf has been a house for me, especially with all the pump in this set (won a match pretty much just riding him and Trusted Forcemage to victory). Also, Stonewright and Heirs of Stromkirk have won me games.
Angel's Tomb and Archwing Dragon (4/4 flying haste for 4 is pretty awesome, a lot of removal is sorcery speed) have been pretty good for me as well, though I haven't gotten to do any Soulbound shenanigans with them yet.
