I know the team rating cutoff for Charleston is 1700. But when do you have to have that rating by? And does anyone know how you are contacted, or how you submit intent to attend the pro tour? If anyone can tell me, that'd be great. Thanks!

I've been checking the t8 lists for some of the results, and I've noticed people putting Orb of Dreams in their Sideboards. Am I missing something? I don't understand how this card can be mildly useful. Right now my board looks like:
    4 Kami of Ancient Law
    3 Pithing Needle
    1 Hokori, Dust Drinker
    3 Opal-Eye, Konda's Yojimbo
    3 Manriki-Gusari
1 *ultra secret tech* (yeah, haven't found anything)

I'm having trouble with the snakes matchup. Can anyone give me advice about how to play this matchup out? It's supposed to be an easy win for ww, right?

This is really not a sound investment. It is comparable to the comic book boom of the ninties. People thought that buying comic books had a guarnteed return. But the reason that these things are so valuable was because of the number of them printed. Now that the prices of old comics has capped off, magic invertors should look at this as a comparison.

So unless wizards decides to make a vintage ptq season, don't look for these to keep growing in price.

I was at a FNM when my friend was playing goblins, and he was playing against mono white. He lost game two, when he had two dead flashfires in hand due to a sacred ground on the board. He throws the fires out of his hand face up in disgust, and goes for his sideboard and deck. He puts the fires to the board, muttering about flashfires. His opponent looks up, and laughs. He procedes to board out 3 cards. My friend (still looking through his board) takes the 3 flashfires and puts them back in. He looks up and says something to the effect of "this card is useless". He proceded to turn 4 flashfires with a warchief, sledder, and piledriver on the board. The best part was probably the look on his opponents face afterwards. The opponent didn't take it harshly, and congradulated him on his good boarding trick.

This one works sometimes, but it is not great without some convincing actions to accompany the boarding. Thanks for all the contributions to the thread so far guys. It's been great reading these!

Well, this brings up the question: where is the borderline? I can see where people would consider this shady, but, we have to consider it as part of the game. I've never attempted this, but I've seen it done. Smooth stuff.

Another that I'd like to add in is something basic: asking card totals in different areas of the game. Ex. cards in hand, cards in yard? This works well repeatedly throughout a game. After asking, count up some lands. This really gets them thinking.

I wanted to start a thread for people to post their favorite Jedi Mind Tricks. I've read a few articles, and have tried a few in tournament play. My favorite would have to be scooping your lands into your hand after a person plays a big spell. The opponent then proceeds to scoop, while you ask? What are you doing? Good game sir.

So lets get the posting started!

I tested the WW with black, and it suprised me (not necessarily all in a good way). I first thought it would have insane mana isssues. This is not true. I thought that the splash of black would help many matches. This is untrue. So black is not the answer.

Seriously though, I posted a thread about Ninjas. Anyone ever try them out? I haven't played enough matches for it to become conclusive, but Ninjas have so much more staying power than WW. Unchecked for 2 turns, and the game spirals out of control.

We all saw this deck at phile. My question is: has anyone playtested this deck? If so, is it worth everyone looking into? And lets maybe follow this off with: what changes do you suggest to make to this deck?

    Thanks.

Should WW be splashing a color? Did anyone read that interesting article on brainburst about WW splashing black? I'm very confused on whether or not this is good, and I'm going to start testing it today. Add some thoughts!

    EDIT: Here is the article:

The thing that I have found to be the problem with the Tallowisp decks are the fact that it has no late game. That being said, the legends version with day of destiny doesn't fizzle as quickly. Also, I see that many people are not running enough creatures. Under 22 just doesn't cut it!

This deck has evolved from hours and hours of testing, and from different version to different version. I finally settled on something that is very creature intensive, and ends games in a hurry. It includes a three drop and 2 four drops, something most decks lack. The larger casting costs also utilize the Shining Shoals better (an amazing card)

    1 Eijano Castle
    22 Planes

    3 Isamaru, Hound of Konda
    4 Lantern Kami
4 Eight and a Half Tales
4 Samuari of the Pale Curtain
    4 Hand of Honor
    3 Kitsune Blademaster
    3 Hokori, Dust Drinker
    2 Nagao, Bound by Honor

    4 Blessed Breath
    2 Shining Shoal
    4 Umezawa's Jitte

    SB
    1 Hokori, Dust Drinker
    2 Kami of Ancient Law
    4 Terashi's Grasp
    4 Ghostly Prision
    4 Empty-Shrine Kannushi

I've been looking around for a while, and I just can't find good card sleeves anywhere. Ultra Pro suck after 1 tournament. Dragon Shields sometimes come warped. And some of these japanese brands are incredibly unreliable. I was thinking of trying out Safe-t-guard. Do you guys have any reccommendations?

    Thanks

If anyone has seen some of the spoiled cards from Saviors, there are two cards that really hose Umezawa's Jitte.

    1. Pithing Needle -
    Artifact
As Pithing Needle comes into play, name a card.
Activated abilities of the named cardcan't be played unless they're mana abilities.
    Unknown

    and

    2. Manriki-Gusari -
    Artifact - Equipment
Equipped creature gets +1/+2 and has "Tap: Destroy target Equipment.".
    Equip 1
    Unknown

So, to continue my question: will white weenie still be playable? And how about all other decks that rely on Umezawa's Jitte for a late game?
