Getting tired and fed up with art references to typhoons/hurricanes depicted as tornadoes, frankly. Yes, a typhoon is a vortex, but on a far larger scale. This is a water spout. Ugh. I’ve been longing for a blue card to depict a typhoon/hurricane and here we are, the moment arrives and I get handed inaccurate crap.
The ability is fine, the name is pure *chef's kiss*.
100%. Wish it was a little smaller with lower CMC so it would actually see play, although the ability might be oppressive at that point. Hitting only creatures limits it quite a bit, though.
6 mana for a 7/7 isn't too bad in blue, though I guess you're technically sacrificing a creature to get it. Still, if you put it on something with some spicy abilities...
Not that I think it'll be good enough for competitive, but at the kitchen table why the hell not?
I'm kind of bummed because Lutri is cool and because I don't know if he'll be good enough to build around anywhere else, but at the same time I understand. I kind of wish that they had gone with a different deck building restriction for him, but wha can you do.
I definitely don't think this should be in baseless spec; it's an important topic. I think it's entirely possible too. I doubt the game or even the company has faced this kind of problem before.
So, if these are real, does that mean we can officially confirm that this set is a wedge set? It's cut off in the picture but with the [U/B] hybrid on the activated ability that card is definitely BUG in color identity, if not in casting cost.
A few more enemy colored lands with basic land types like the BFZ and Amonkhet duels and enemy slow fetches would do a lot to improve budget mana bases for enemy colors imo. They're something I think should have been printed long ago.
I wish that they'd introduce them in commander decks as "new" cards but not actually have them take up "new card" slots, to be totally honest. Then maybe reprint them for other sets down the line. Maybe that's not a great suggestion though, but at least the problem would be somewhat solved. Maybe for the draftable commander set?
ADORABLE
give it quicksilver dagger for fun
Meta dependent, but I don't think this card is worthless by a long shot.
as a weather dude i feel ya
works very nicely in the cycling commander deck

The secret lair is exactly what I was worried they were going to do. Jesus ******* Christ wizards, what's wrong with you?
