One of the best things about goyf is that it blocks other goyfs.

You're trying to basically create RUG Delver in all the wrong colors with the wrong creatures. Your deck is basically RUG but slower; a control deck will stabilize and take over the game long before you can kill them.

    Remember. Goyfs can block goyfs.

A friend said that you can just remove equipment from a creature for 0 mana and not attach it to something else, but I was under the impression that to move equipment you have to equip it to another creature. Who's right here?

EDIT: also if an opponent steals my creature for a turn, does the equipment stay attached to the creature or stay under it's owner's control?

Equipment stays attached to a creature until it dies or it is attached to another creature.

In regards to your second question, the equipment stays equipped to the creature but is still under your control. For example, if during your main step an opponent were to take control of an equipped creature you would be able to move that equipment to one of the creatures that you control by paying the equip cost. If you don't, then the creature that the opponent took control of retains all the benefits of being 'equipped' by your equipment.

I didn't realize just how powerful LoA was at first as well. I knew it was very very good, free card draw, and such. But once I got it in a cube control deck (with reanimator package), it just blew me away. The card is just sickening.

The trouble would be that ambiguity would arise with trying to categorize decks and then deciding on what cards those decks would be able to play. What if someone were to make a storm-like deck that wins differently (or a turn slower) than the current 4-turn storm deck? Are they then allowed to play those banned cards? Or do you start to regulate the number of copies of cards that decks can play? If they play more than X many of a certain card, then they fall under the "4-turn storm deck" category and cannot play that deck. People could then just make the same combo decks based around less copies of a card.

IMO It just makes competitive magic much more difficult than it should be.

I'm THAT guy who speaks his mind whenever I get passed something ridiculous.

That Sands of Delirium should not be coming to me as a 6th pick.

    I've only shopped there twice.

The first time was for gaming supplies (binders, playmats, dice, etc.). I really like that they have a very wide selection of gaming supplies at reasonable prices.

The second time was for an Italian Karakas. At the time a regular Karakas was about $50-$55 with Italian Karakas in SP condition going for at least $40 on that "one really popular auction site". At the time, Abu had a SP- Karakas for $34 + $2 shipping which seemed kind of strange to me.

If you ever get the chance to dabble into Legacy, try to find someone who plays Crucible of Worlds and Wasteland. Its basically the same thing that happened to you except it starts on turn 3. XD

I don't think thats very harsh either.

Usually when I play against newbies they're fairly young and they have a very limited amount of cards available to them. They might even be short on commons and uncommons because they only have the ones that they open from packs. If I know I'm playing against a newbie I try to make friendly small talk throughout the game and try to get through with it quickly. Afterwards I'll usually ask to see their deck and give them some pointers about what they could change about their deck. I'll also dig through some of the cards that aren't moving in my binder and give it to them for free. For example, there was a kid playing mono-black aggro and I gave him 3 Nighthawks and 4 Gatekeeper of Malakir so that his deck would work better. Monetarily, I gave them very little but helped their deck a ton. And in turn we got a new permanent player at the store which is always good in my book!

Well the statement "it doesn't matter" is incorrect because it does matter. The fact that it was done in a non-competitive setting means that there are little to no repercussions for missing things like this (assuming both players genuinely forgot about the trigger). In regular REL you are supposed to point out that your opponent is missing a trigger. In competitive REL you are not obligated to point out a missed trigger that your opponent controls. In both cases, each player is responsible for his own triggers.

The only deck that comes to mind when you mention The Abyss is some iterations of Pox decks.

In order for a creature to be declared as an attacker it must be tapped (unless it has Vigilance). Once your opponent taps his 4 creatures they are considered tapped and your opponent cannot 'respond" to his own declaration of attackers.

I believe what your opponent might have been thinking of is in the case of declaring blockers. If, for example, you were attacking him with a 2/2- he could declare his Llanowar Elf as a blocker then tap it to produce green mana to cast giant growth on the Elf to kill your attacker.

Priority is only gained at the end of the declare attackers, declare blockers, combat damage, and end of combat.

I'm 99% sure that since both triggers occur at the same time you will be able to stack them however you like. To gain the maximum life you should first soulbond Wolfir then allow Trostani's triggered ability to resolve.

If they kill Wolfir in response to the soulbond then you will gain 4 life. I believe they have to use a kill spell as opposed to damage in order to prevent you from gaining 8 life. If they use a lightning bolt and a shock to kill Wolfir then I believe you gain 8 life. If they use a doomblade then you will gain 4 life. I'm not 100% sure though.

If they kill Trostani in response to the soulbond (and you soulbond to a legal target) then you will gain 8 life.

What is the match up with this deck against the Omniscience Show and Tell deck, reason I am asking is because my friend is making that deck and I want to proxy a deck that has an even-close to even match up with that deck so the games will be fun.

You will most likely lose game 1 unless they simply cannot find their combo pieces. Game 2 and 3 you have a chance IF you have Harmonic Sliver and/or Oblivion Ring in your sideboard. Holding one of those two cards waiting until they play their Show and Tell will completely blow them out, otherwise the MU is pretty abysmal for Maverick. Other things that help in the match up are Gaddock Teeg (slightly) since he prevents them from going for the Petals of Insight kill. Choke is also pretty good but sometimes can be way too slow. Some people like using Surgical Extraction on the opponent's cantrips to slow them down- I've never been a fan of this route but it seems like it works to a certain extent. Crop Rotation is OK against them (fetching Karakas) but it usually doesn't matter since they're either going to be putting a Omniscience or Griselbrand into play. Once they go the Omniscience route- they'll probably cast an Emrakul. Even if you bounce it to their hand they still get another turn. If they put a Griselbrand into play they'll just use his ability to draw a ton of cards before he gets returned.

Because of blue decks I've been playing 3 Cavern of Souls and absolutely loving it. Being able to reliably land a Thalia or Gaddock Teeg against a blue deck is HUGE.

A small sideboard thing that I also do is switching out my 4th Swords to Plowshares in the mainboard with a Path to Exile. Mainly due to the fact that the life gain that they get out of you StPing a Griselbrand will usually give them enough time to find another Show and Tell and probably win the game.
