Sigil Captain will make all of his tokens 3/3 right off the bat. I'm not sure if this works or how effective it will be, but you can Food Chain to make infinite tokens at the beginning of your next upkeep. You'd probably need Final Fortune and a haste enabler to make it useful though.
* No G/W/X Commander with the word "Whenever Enchantment" in its text box. (Pharika is sort of something, but not enough to do justice, and Narset makes a fine Enchantress in her colors, just without green.)
I really like the art for the spirit warrior token. Seems like it could be fun in a Doran, the Siege Tower or Sapling of Colfenor "toughness matters" deck. With Doran in play it's a 2 mana 5/5. Wait... is the X/X variable? Or does it stick once it comes into play?
I'm pretty disappointed so far. Narset seems really broken for a casual group and a little slow for a more competitive group, Sidisi doesn't really make me want to replace Mimeoplasm, although I may do so for the types "Naga Shaman" alone. Zurgo could be okay, he works well with wraths and mass LD, as does Narset, plus he has the important 7 power. The Abzan general really doesn't impact a deck at all, I guess he's a slightly weaker Doran for the additional exiling ability. It's also nice that the Abzan legend pretty much directly counters what Sidisi is trying to do...
I love it. Esper was my first deck and Glassdust Hulk was my favorite card. Now I can play all those sweet multicolored artifacts without people going crazy because Sharuum is the general.
Nekusar seems like an interesting combination of Group Hug and Group Slug... You can add lots of symmetrical hug effects like Font of Mythos while simultaneously punishing people for drawing too many cards with your general and cards like Molten Psyche and Cerebral Vortex... Definitely my favorite of the generals spoiled so far, but could be easily usurped by one of the three remaining generals.
I was playing a 3 player match with The Mimeoplasm against a Rasputin Dreamweaver blink.dec and Zedruu, the Greathearted. Rasputin had been going silly with Skullclamp and Nim Deathmantle until I eventually bounced the Deathmantle and then countered it when he tried to replay it. Rasputin casts Ulamog on his turn, and after the turns go around and he attacks Zedruu with it, the Zedruu player scoops. On my turn, I cast Avenger of Zendikar for about 20 tokens, play and crack a fetch then pass the turn. On his turn, he exiles his Ulamog with Mistmeadow Witch, then states that a) the game is pretty much over, and b) im going to have to read the card he's about to play. He casts Dimensional Breach, his Ulamog comes back at end of turn, and the crowd around us agrees that I should scoop. On my upkeep, I bring back a land from the breach, and rip Reanimate off the top which I cast on my Venser, Shaper Savant to bounce the Ulamog back to his hand. I won the game several turns later on the back of Avenger.
tl;dr- never give up, even when facing down an Ulamog with no permanents in play
He's not amazing but Krond the Dawn Clad pretty much fits that description.
