Except it doesn't do exactly what it says on the card. Changing timing restrictions makes it so that when I look at a printed version of the card now, there is hidden text that makes it not do what is described. Sure, it may not have been intuitive to everyone, but once someone has seen Maze of Ith perform the same functionality now they will just become confused.
This change is completely baffling to me with their supposed stance of not doing power level errata any more and their stance on letting some functionality of cards morph as long as it makes the printed version make sense at a glance without needing to know about extra clauses added by oracle text in order to make the card work as the rules did when printed. For example, Winter Orb loosing its as long as its untapped clause that was originally baked into the fact that it was an artifact.
What I find interesting about Godsend over SOFAI is how it interacts with creatures other than TNN. SOFI really only gives us the option to go on the aggressive against TNN and against most other played creatures it doesn't really do much other than provide a P/T boost. Godsend still gives the aggressive qualities against TNN, but at the same time provides fantastic defensive qualities against many other creatures in the format, for example Tarmogoyf. Godsend allows us to turn our own creatures into the same defensive moat-like object that TNN gives other decks and if you are playing Brimaz or Serra Avenger it turns them into complete gods of the battlefield.
That said, 3 equip cost is much more than two and having actual pro-blue and pro-red plus the shock and draw are all good reasons to stick with the sword over Godsend. Also Mirran Crusader much prefers the sword.
Overall with the power of Godsend with vigilance might just end up having the Brimaz and Serra Avenger builds favoring it while the Mirran Crusader builds preferring to stick with SOFAI.
Taking the question as just the title of this thread I would probably be indifferent to it. The idea doesn't really excite me and it would all come down to execution.
Taking the question after reading the original post and feeling that it is more implying just a fanservice block rather than one about just an all female world just makes me facepalm.
He was 3-1 when I left. I ended up dropping at 1-3 mainly do to bad luck more than anything else (there was one misplay I made against RUG that I can actually point to losing the game from, but otherwise I ended up just drawing no action all day).
The most pimp I have in the deck are Mirage basic Plains and 4 MM foil Wisps :\
I have a tournament in 2 weeks with a prize pool of nearly $1500. Need a list! I've gone back to playing with Serra Avenger (thus dropping the Restos) because the meta has shifted away from midrange towards combo and control. TNN can be a problem but I'm happy overall with how the meta is right now. Lots of food for DnT with all these blue decks.
It's a more "mainstream" list than what I used to run, but after testing I still don't like it very much. Mindcesor has been extremely underwhelming, just as I thought it would be. Maindeck Manriki has saved me more times than I'm comfortable admitting to. The Spellskite is cute but the space can be used for more productive cards. I Still miss the Restoration Angels but I admit that Avengers are better positioned in the meta right now. I like the sideboard Moat, wish I had more than one. Might drop the Linvalas, not enough creatures with activated abilities in the meta for the two slots in the sideboard.
I know it's crazy, but I've considered mainboarding Cataclysm. It's so good right now that DRS is less played. Maybe I'll try this weekend.
I'm curious how the Moat has been working out for you. I've got a pair of them that I've been wanted to test with although just haven't had the time.
Umm... No. Mangara is a guy. http://wiki.mtgsalvation.com/article/Mangara

My day is fulfilled. :3
Scroll Rack + Land Tax
Mangara of Corondor + Karakas

Instead we get to see one of Death & Taxes' most embarrassingly boring match-ups.
If Magus of the Moat was a 0/4 instead of being lightning bolt fodder I think it'd be more reasonable.
I have a feeling that a disruptive flying + Moat deck could be possible, but I don't think it would look like the current death and taxes lists.
I'm not sure that Island is actually played that much. You might be confusing it with Tundra.
Wow... I love the Ajani in the sideboard. I've always felt that it is one of those cards that is powerful, but just doesn't have a good home.
