I play Savor the Moment in my Braids, Conjurer Adept deck and it's amazing. You get to put another creature into play, draw a card, play a land, and it even gives the creature you dropped into play on the 1st turn psudo haste since it gets to attack on the 2nd turn.
It's probably not a card you want to throw into every deck, but if you can take advantage of it's great.
This has actually been a problem for me lately. My playgroup has completely switched over to EDH and doesn't play anything else. I love EDH but I've been playing magic since '95 and I don't want to give up on good old 60 card casual decks. Has this happened to anyone else?
I don't see it. It's sorcery so you aren't playing it on beginning of combat with the RR and by the time one of your guys would connect, you don't have the RR to pay for the 2RRR. I'd rather just pay for a Punishing Fire here, or two-thirds of a payment on a Char.
Oh you're right. I originally thought the mana would keep until the end of the combat phase :/ Thanks for the info.
I'm curios, aside from being flavourful, does Agrus has any edge against Jor Kadeen, the Prevailer? Please don't read this as "X is more powerful than Y so you should play X." I just want to discuss Agrus's merit.
Well I run Agrus as well and he has great synergy with effects that let you have additional combat steps. Each time he attacks your creatures get buffed so if you attack multiple times the buffs keep stacking. He also gives a defensive buff if the creature is white, while Jor is purely a power buff. Jor is a bit more fragile too in a sense that his ability is dependent on metalcraft and him being on the field. If your enemy makes you lose metal craft or kills Jor after you attack but before damage you might get blown out in combat. He also forces you to play with a lot of artifacts.
I run more of a token build but here is some stuff that has worked out for me:
Also I believe that the mechanics of the card are supposed to reflect that the guild leader is three different creatures in one. Every fake I have seen so far has completely ignored that part :/
So I'm working on an Oros, The Avenger deck that focuses on his ability to deal creatures damage. To help you understand where I'm going with this, here is some stuff I've managed to dig up so far:
So as you can see the major theme here is to use my opponents creatures against them; killing them while hopefully dealing their controllers massive damage. What do you guys think, any suggestions?
Hey all! I was looking through all of my weird generals yesterday and for some reason Mageta the Lion caught my eye. I couldn't get him out of my head today, so when I got home I decided to throw together a rough list. It's really rough though so I would love some help!
The basic idea behind the deck is to break the symmetry of Mageta's wrath ability (and wraths in general). I included a bunch of artifacts/lands that can turn into creatures when I want them to, but also hide when Mageta does his thing.
I also wanted to include a lot of blinking effects. Many of my creatures have ETB abilities that can recur cards from my graveyard which can help to mitigate the discard. I can also blink something important out so it survives a wrath.
I also tried to include threats that can survive through a wrath - indestructible creatures, planeswalkers, and token makers like Luminarch Ascension/Mobilization.
Those are basically the main themes I tried to keep in mind while constructing the deck. I think this is a pretty good foundation but I would love some input from everyone else. Do I have enough threats? Are there other fitting cards that I might have missed? Anything advice at all would be great!
Thornbite Staff - Allows you to machine gun down your opponents creatures one by one.
Deathrender - Could be fun. If you make Tahn purposefully fight something that will kill him you can cheat a fatty directly into play.
Vicious Shadows - You are going to be killing tons of creatures so you can get a bunch of triggers out of it.
Stuffy Doll - Another fun card. Having Tahn fight this poor little guy lets you hit someone directly in the face. Also I can't the image of him beating the crap out of this little doll out of my head haha.
It's probably not a card you want to throw into every deck, but if you can take advantage of it's great.
I know right! I want to make an Ultimus deck but I feel like there just isn't enough in mono blue :/
I also would love it if Mannichi, the Fevered Dream were U/R. His ability is so U/R and there are tons of blue cards that would be amazing with him.
Oh you're right. I originally thought the mana would keep until the end of the combat phase :/ Thanks for the info.

I run more of a token build but here is some stuff that has worked out for me:
- Glory of Warfare
- World Queller
- Goldnight Commander
- Goblin Assault
- Moggcatcher
- Moonveil Dragon
- Instigator Gang
- Elemental Mastery
- Rakka Mar
- Rise of the Hobgoblins
- Mentor of the Meek
- Cathar's Crusade
- Relentless Assault
- Waves of Agression
- Aggrivated Assault
etc...Liliana of the Veil, Do or Die, Death or Glory, Painful Quandary and possibly even Forbidden Ritual.
We also need a way to make them attack so you can throw in stiff like Curse of the Nightly Hunt and Fumiko the Lowblood.
Oh! I almost forgot, with Repercussion you can send Ben-Ben's damage right to their faces!
Stuff that triggers off of creature damage:
Stuff that triggers off of creature death:
Spells to lay massive damage onto a creature(s):
Other fun stuff:

PS. I can't wait to cast Retether (or Three Dreams) and load up someone's creature with Spiteful Shadows, Treacherous Link, Ragged Veins and then hit it with a Shivan Meteor ><

Basilisk Collar + Gorgon Flail - ensure that whoever you are fighting dies no matter how big they are. Also The collar gives you some life gain too!
Darksteel Plate + Magebane Armor - Both of these make Tahn invincible during his brawls.

Godo, Bandit Warlord + Hoarding Dragon - Can fetch all of your equipment.
Thousand-Year Elixir + Magewright's Stone - More activations!
Just some stuff the top of my head. Hope this helps a little!
