I'd even say Temur has more combo potentional than Esper has. This is due to Red, which is far more a combo colour than white and black could ever hope to be. Temur also feels more open-ended to me; if you don't pick one of the more linear plan commanders (Animar mainly) you can go a lot of different ways with your build, ranging from pretty hardcore control (With a weakness in the board-blowing up field) via balls-to-the-wall combo to intense aggro. That's why I'll always prefer Temur over Esper.
I don't personally have preference but I have never made a Temur deck and doubt I will. I like removal a lot and Temur falls down on that front up against most other color combinations.
I just put together a Derevi, Empyrial Tactician focused on land drops and it is pretty fun and eschews most of the things you expect to see in that deck, but still can function incredibly well and all the cards tie together well.
Also I am guessing most people don't play Zurgo Helmsmasher as enchantment prison control
There is no difference because in every single one of those cases the person playing the Dust the Haups the Lattice or the Wash has the hand, state and left over mana to win typically.
That is what those represent, bomb synergies to end games, nothing more, nothing less.
I pick themes first and generals second usually so most of the time the General is picked because it works best with theme, but sometimes you really just want to have fun with a card.
I constantly get people telling me Kurkesh should probably just be Daretti for my deck but whatever.
Having not partialled for like 3 weeks and can't imagine going back, also you see a lot less people complaining about fast starts and also slight converting decks to be more stable and reliable.
Its only 1 mana, I am not saying run it over other draw mind you just over Staff of Nin and only in like Red, Gruul, or Boros decks that could use a bit of extra draw around the edges (only place I ever use it).
This is exactly why I have a large problem with that philosophy of the format nonsense.
I bet you if you walked into an unknown to you game shop and asked people if they knew the philosophy of Commander and if they had the read the outline of that, most people would give you very funny looks.
The format is not EDH it is Commander and it has been ever since WoTC started putting out precons and cards like Derevi and Oloro and Daretti and Freyalise.
Applying all that old spirit of the format stuff to judge how to play in group settings is foolish, what is actually important is being a decent human being and being able to play a game with people.
And Anarchy would require another piece to not also screw the person over casting it, the thing about those effects is that most of the really bad ones are symmetrical or cost mana per activation.
Iona is the only one people would have a real problem with, everything outside of that with Painter's is a plus.
Because you are constantly making generalizations and assumptions about what is and is not okay in unknown metas the primary characteristic of them being that they are UNKNOWN
White and Black can combo just as well with the best of them you just have to play sacrifice or lifegain nonsense. Faith's Reward Second Sunrise Living Death Reveillark

Absolutely loving how this thing plays.

Also I only run that card in decks that play a lot of instant speed spells/abilities so I have extra mana when I pass turn.

In most EDH games I end every turn with a couple mana left over for something, why not a few extra draws?
But Mind's Eye is not 1 draw for 1 mana it is 3 draw for 3 mana which I will take over the spot Staff of Nin takes up every day of every week.
