sword of war and peace fixes the tokens matchup. it turns all of your creatures into invisible stalkers and gains you life. g1 you can win off the back of sword and then side in ratchet bomb games 2 and 3. Kibler naya and r/g give me the most grief but is winnable with batterskull timely's dungeon geist and celestial purge. 2 celestial purge is gold against 4x huntmaster. if they dont see huntmaster its a dead card but then you should be winning that game anyway.
I believe the deck first got noticed at world. Raphael Levy and friends came up with the deck. It basically runs off of a green/red engine of dumping cards into your graveyard and then using powerful creatures in combination with unburial rites. This deck is the definition of value.
So its pretty much decided that anyone running original frites is cutting one tracker's instinct. what should go in that slot? Right now I have one thrun as he is a phenomenal road block for the early game and to hopefully shore up my control matchup for game 1 a little bit. I've seen ppl run a 9th bomb and i've also seen lists with a sword or even an ancient grudge. I'm just wondering as to what people think is the best card to go in this slot. If it is indeed a 9th bomb should it be a wurmcoil/inferno titan or possibly a different 6/7 to diversify the threats. Thoughts?
i feel like i see mageblade 4-0ing much more than this list would convey. i would group them with esper spirits before i jammed them in with wu control but thats just my opinion.
stalker is superior in the mirror match. the mirror is generally won by getting an equipped stalker or giest online first. I think stalker is a necessary evil. He presents a hard to interact with inevitability and cant get clogged up the same way as geist. That being said, I will generally side him out for just about every matchup.
Lingering soul's is the BEST card in standard imho. Is huntmaster dominating legacy? More copies of soul's showed up in the invitational top 8 than snapcaster. If your deck can work in this card do so. even without anthem effects, this card is amazing. More and more delver is turning into the control in just about every match up. having one card that can give you 4 bodies for 5 mana is a squadron hawk on steroids. This is just my opinion however and tapping out in the mid game may not be what more traditional delver lists are trying to do.
My big beef is the lack of Thrun. He is such a house in the control matchup. I would find room for at least 2 of him in your 75.
i agree, thrun is just too much of a boss against island. He can win a game all by himself. I personally find sun titan lacking and would go -3 sun titan -3 Oblivion ring +2 Thrun +2 Ancient Grudge +2 Ray of revalation. Ray has been an absolute boss against humans, tokens, o rings and curse of death's hold which is surprisingly problematic for this deck. I do like the idea of a informational sideboard and really like blade splicer right now. what about +4 hero of bladehold? that card seems really good in our deck. curving out t2 souls t3 hero t4 gavony seems really good. thoughts?
Jace is good in the mirror period. It is not impossible to resolve him and when you do they need instant board pressure or its GG. While the mirror is generally won off the back of Nephalia Drownyard, on the play a resolved jace, memory adept or even just a turn 2 snapcaster mage can win. mind=blown
Not a direct reflection on your deck, but I feel that a 4x of Tracker's is almost always a mistake. Tracker has the amazing ability to get lands you want in your hand into your graveyard, creatures you want in your graveyard into your hand, and blue mana in a deck where it has no business. Tracker works as maybe a 2x to stand in for mulch 5-6, but I still feel that the flashback cost is a trap unless you go further into blue by picking up some phantasmal images or invisible stalkers.
I feel like this is wrong. Yes tracker's instinct is indeed our worst dig spell however it becomes absolutely the best of our dig options post board when grave yard hate comes in as it can search for our win cons and insure that they go to our hands to be hard cast. Blue is not that difficult to hit if you have 2x darkslick as well as birds. Even if you cant flashback, generally its done its job on the first cast. While not being the best option, it is still indeed necessary to the running of the deck imo. That being said, if any room needs to be in the deck to make room for other options, tracker's is indeed the first spell to cut however i feel it needs to be at 4x for g2 and 3 do to gy hate and cant take up slots in the board.
If they are naming unburial rites with memoricide then you pump your fist. I could be wrong but I feel like getting rid of our 4 of win condition would be more devastating to the deck then losing rites.

Fast and loose, the only way to play.
