The big websites for buying are those that hosts tournaments of their own and stuff (not sure if im allowed to put names for advertisement reasons) and they will have tons of everything. The best azorius deck I've played that beats aggro has been the flash deck with lots of supreme verdict in the 75.

Has it placed in anything? Link if so now i'm really interested.

I did the math for the manabase before assembling it and i haven't had much trouble with the mana. Farseek can grab shocklands, evolving wilds is whatever basic land we need, and uh.. shocklands are just really good. As for looking into other peoples decks, the very first thing i did when assembling it was look at the RWU, Esper, Grixis, and Bant control decks that have top-eighted states or SCG opens recently. Then i looked at all the 1st place Jund and Reanimator list's to see what this deck is supposed to be able to beat. Double blue for Aetherling isn't a problem ever and hes not good hes godlike.

http://sales.starcitygames.com/deckdatabase/displaydeck.php?DeckID=51979. OmniDoor by Todd Anderson. One of the best pros and surely a much better deck builder than anybody on this site. And I believe the original post asked for people's ideas and decklists, not that they be shot down.

I've been trying to construct a URW flash list for awhile now since DGM has been out. Flash is just not getting there anymore like it used to. I'm playing tempo right now but would like to get back to the control aspect and play full out control.

I'm trying to construct a list right now but I have a few questions first.

Why have Jace Memory adept in your 75 if your other win cons win through damage? Why not just play more copies?

I don't see Tamiyo being too great in here, is here +1 really that good? Or do you play and protect her to get the ultimate?

Why is Geist of Saint Traft in the SB? Just to kill and opposing one, or is he brought in in certain matchups to race your opponent?

Geist kills himself and races control usually. Memory adept wins on his own for mill and is a bomb against control. Tamiyo is good with the +1 for one threat ride decks, -2 is good for aggro and ulty is easy to get. Hope that explains some choices for you Smile

I'm adjusting mine right now to try to find some room for some more power without losing to aggro as the popularity of gruul aggro on modo is wearing off. I think one or two entreats are going in, along with helix, and searing spear into the sideboard i think. We'll see. I'll update my deck in the primer when im done.

Did anyone see that list that came in first at the California states? It playes Deputy of Acquittals.

    http://magic.tcgplayer.com/db/deck.asp?deck_id=1126652

Might run this at FNM tomorrow if I can find any Deputies. The only thing that scares me is in game 1 if you send Assemble the Legions down to the bottom from an Augur of Bolas. Maybe main 1 Assemble the Legions and 1 AEtherling? I'm not sure.

What are your guys thoughts on the deck.

This deck is solid. I love aetherling with part or all of my soul and I don't know why he doesn't play it but he did label the deck midrange so maybe he considers six mana to be too much. I disagree considering he has 25 lands and with draw, that's plenty. But aside from the lack of aetherling, this deck wins more traditionally like a control deck by beating down for small numbers and laughing at them while they stare at a snapcaster slowly getting there. Snapcaster can win, and when you get two or more, the damage adds up. Not to mention he's playing resto and she is a very big threat bringing three power, resilience to most burn, and evasion. I see plenty of threats in his deck although it does seem a little more midrangey with its lack of walkers or anything costing more than 5 mana really. Obviously it has proven itself though.

Yeah at the point that you have to take out good cards because you don't want duskmantle seer to hit you, you need to step back and look at him. If he is holding you back from playing powerful cards you probably shouldnt play him. Generally a good creature base for control is like 3 snaps 3 augurs 2 aetherling or something like that. You really dont need many. 1 aetherling is the only creature you need out to win.

yeah your mana base seems a little off. You only have 20 lands that produce colored mana in a deck that is a little high on its curve as well as needs very specific colors of mana. Even take avacyns pilgrim for example, hes best coming down on turn one, well you only have 8 lands that provide green that come down untapped on turn one so the odds of that are shaky at best. Just seems like youve got at least one card in your hand every game that you have to stare at. A less crushing card you did play is better than the nicol bolas you didnt every time.

That looks like a sweet list. Hope you do well at game day Smile Ral is pretty typically better than chandra, but I think she might be better with how much burn youve got. Even forking searing spear can be a sweet play.

Yeah dispel is awesome no doubt. The reason Terminus is main for me is because aggro is far more popular on MODO than control. And against Midrange, or aggro when it gets to turn 4, ral zarek is really good.

I listed him in the primer but I don't play him. When you only have 8 creatures, your opponents often have a lot of removal just waiting in their hand so anything not in some way removal-proof or backed by a counterspell will die. Its not worth casting him then tapping out to counter removal all on your turn for what he does. You have to keep in mind in draw-go style or any control with low creature count very often your guys will die almost as soon as they come down.

I think the problem that most people have with Desperate Ravings are the situations where there is a combination of cards they want to have. For instance, you want to draw another land so you can cast Supreme Verdict. With Desperate Ravings, even though it increases your chance of drawing a land, it puts you at risk of discarding the land or Supreme Verdict. If there are more cards that you don't want to discard (like Aetherling), then the odds of discarding something important increases. With Think Twice, the only thing that can happen is for you to possibly draw a land. Basically my point being there are times when uou need to improve your hand, but don't have a lot expendable resources to make Desperate Ravings good.

That being said, I usually run it as a one-of simply because it does help you draw into what you need, and if what you need is just land, it can even out your draws better than Think Twice. And with flashback, I only need to draw it once to solve all of my problems.

Also, you are probably right that 4x Warleader's Helix may be a bit much, but it should definitely be at least a 2-of. I'll post my list later today.

Edit: Here's my list. I haven't been able to test it much yet, but as soon as I do I'll post results:
(Also, I liked your creature setup a lot, so I might be borrowing it.)

I guess the Helix in yours fills the spot of Terminus and more walkers in mine. Ral Zarek gets no love from you? Some people dont like him much yet though so thats understandable. I am surprised to see no Tamiyo though, she is real good and the best follow-up to supreme verdict most of the time.
