I remember when I first got back into Magic, was a bit before Innistrad, finding my way to this community and just getting so into everything and discussing things, posting and sharing deck lists (some good, some bad), having a blast on the commander forums especially as that more and more became my favorite format. This quickly became one of my go to sites for just wasting hours of my time. I've grown distant from the game and community over the last couple of years for a combination of reasons, but even still there's a special place in my heart for it all.
So yeah, this announcement definitely hurts, it's like a huge part of my adult life is sorta dying, damn near a decade of it at that. It's also closing the day before my 29th birthday so..yeah, that really rubs the salt in.
I've seen this place both through good times and bad, and even if aspects of the community or other things sorta pushed me away, I am genuinely saddened by this news and will cherish the memories I have. Thanks for the ride.
My LGS is awesome. The owner's a really cool guy, open gaming, open trades/buying and selling between players. Hell, sold off a Skaab Ruinator I pulled yesterday to the shop..then thinking about it today I decided I wanted it for my EDH deck, instead of making me pay the full price for the card he just gave it back to me for the price I sold it to him at. Plus he let me take home the Innistrad prerelease Garruk standee. It's a great place, I've spent entire days there chatting with him, playing with other regulars, just kinda hanging out. He sells candy and drinks as well (at a slightly higher price than other places, but I'm more than willing to pay up for a soda there), but also allows you to bring food in, just make sure to clean up after yourself.
That is how you run a good game shop, that is how you get loyal customers.
"____ will be good in pod"
...read that far far far too many times this spoiler season.
It's not Avacyn's Collar, we've seen that symbol in pleny of other cards and art, and actually I'm more than willing to bet set 3 is going to feature her return with that as the expansion symbol.
I guess the stylized crown makes some sense.
This I have to disagree with.
There's no reason a picture of a girl is any less attractive just because 1 is a real image and the other is drawn.
And running werewolves..I cannot wait to play against draw-go style decks.
Mentor of the Meek lets you pay 1 to draw a card when a creature with a power of 2 or less comes into play under your control.
Howlpack Alpha puts a 2/2 wolf token into play during the end step. He also pluses that to a 3/3.
Now assuming that, because it comes into play as a 2/2 I'd be able to use Mentor's ability...well would it being at the end step matter?
How does the interaction work?

One of the packs I opened from my prize pool had a Geist Honored Monk as my rare...as well as one as my foil.
Had some good pulls as well between the 6 for the sealed, the 1 from my intro deck, and the 5 I got as my prize (also got 3 additional promo mayors to complete the promo set). Hell, I actually have 5 Mayors as I pulled one from my sealed.
