Is the cost to get it back always 2B?

Yeah. Wasn't positive on the number to go with on it as far as balance goes, but I did want to keep it consistent and make it black.

So was toying around with new design space at work and thought this could be pretty fun. The idea of your creatures acting as double agents or spies or the like. Sometimes it might be better to cast an undercosted body at a downside, sometimes you rather pay a cheaper infiltrate cost and later have to pay to get the creature back under your control, etc. Here's the mechanic itself, some cards using the mechanic and a card that's built around/enables the mechanic.

Infiltrate (cost) (You may cast this for its Infiltrate cost. If you do, it enters the battlefield under an opponent's control and gains "2B: This creature's owner gains control of it. Only it's owner may activate this ability.")

    Shadowsleuth Assassin

    B

    Creature - Human Assassin (U)

When ~ ETBs, sacrifice another creature you control.

Infiltrate 1B (You may cast this for its Infiltrate cost. If you do, it enters the battlefield under target opponent's control and gains "2B: This creature's owner gains control of it. Only it's owner may activate this ability.")

    2/2

    Information Gatherer

    U

    Creature - Human Rogue (C)

When ~ enters the battlefield, reveal your hand.

    Infiltrate UU

    0/4

    Thoughtretch Prowler

    1B

    Creature - Human Rogue (U)

When ~ enters the battlefield reveal your hand. Target opponent chooses a nonland card from it and you discard that card.

    Infiltrate 2B

    3/2

    Shadowsleuth Doppelganger

    2UU

    Creature - Shapeshifter (R)

You may have ~ ETB as a copy of a creature on the battlefield.

    Infiltrate U

    0/0

    Network of Shadows

    1U

    Enchantment (R)

Creatures you own have Infiltrate, where the Infiltrate cost is equal to their CMC.

Whenever an opponent draws a card, if they control a creature you own, they reveal the drawn card to you.

"There are no secrets we don't already know."

    Shadowlseuth Pickpocket

    U

    Creature - Human Rogue (R)

    Infiltrate 1U

When you gain control of ~, if you are it's owner gain control of target artifact its previous controller controls.

    2/3

    Sower of Agony

    1B

    Creature - Human Rogue (R)

At the beginning of your upkeep, you lose 2 life.

    Infiltrate 2B

    3/3

Note: These were more proof of concept than anything else, and also designed at like 4 or 5 in the morning while I was at work, so numbers may need adjusting as far as costs and balancing and etc.

I mean, no way they'd ban one of the chase mythics from the set like that. Oko's not going anywhere.

I'd say Murderous Rider should replace Hero's Downfall in just about any deck running the latter.

I mean, we all knew she was gonna be back with this set, but I'm still so disappointed to see it confirmed.

They rushed through the Eldrazi, to the point that they shoe-horned Emrakul into Innistrad just so they could wrap it up as quickly as they could. Then the next several blocks basically focused solely on the Bolas arc so that they could get that done with and while for the most part they handled it alright, it was still over pretty quick for something that they had been building up more or less since what, Alara? Now we have Garruk's curse, the hunter of planeswalkers, he completely misses an all you can eat buffet of walkers back on Ravnica and we finally get him back and...they cure him, just like that. Did they ever really do anything with his curse or his newfound lust for planeswalker blood? No, not really, that would involve some effort and long-term story telling and actual stakes and consequences. Instead they just *poof* cure him amd we're done with it.

    What a waste.

There goes my hopes for his curse ending with Liliana's head on a pike. I guess she will never get her comeuppance.

I mean, she's a strong female character, no way Wizards is gonna do away with her.

And just like that we have another completely wasted plot thread. I swear, Wizards just does not know what to do with their stories anymore. The cursed Garruk/planeswalker hunter plot went absolutely nowhere and accomplished nothing, it feels like they just used this as an opportunity to quickly handwave it away and be done with it, just like they rushed through the Eldrazi. Even Bolas came off somewhat rushed going into the end of it, though it was handled mostly better all the same.

    Couple things.

First, what is the flavor behind "second card drawn" and what is the flavor behind it and these cards/effects?

Second, as much as they are pushing it, no keyword?

The caudron is bad. At best is 5 mana (and pay 2 life) to reanimate a creature (IF you have 5 creatures in the grave).
In standard we already have a 5 mana reanimator card that gives the creature haste.

If you want a repeatable reanimator card for EDH you can already use Whip of Erebos, Recurring Nightmare ,Dread Return, Mimic Vat etc.

Also the wheel of sun and moon effect is pretty awkward.

Recurring Nightmare has been very banned in EDH for a long long time.
