So I have to make sure that another creature enters after she gets to the battlefield. Also, if she survives next turn, I have to cast more creatures just to make the casting cost truly worth it.

If I can draw three cards from her, then she have done her job. But still......

There are already some successful WUG/b decks.

What Jund lacks are the creatures that would advance whatever it is the deck is trying to accomplish.

Thragtusk and Resto works well with many of UW/x signature spells specially Sphinx's Revelation. BR follows the old proven formula of combining good burn/kill spells with fast creatures. Unburial Rites is so obvious for Reanimator decks, even if they don't go that route they still have a way to cast their bombs. As for Jund, the only creature that works well with the signature spells is Olivia and she is only average.

Last time I checked, Jund builders are into aggro build with more green creatures on their decks. I look at their stuff and I think I'd rather build mono green aggro with those.

Trollololol! Grin Mill you with your own Jace! Grin One of the funniest moments in Magic! 3 consecutive Zealous Conscripts stealing Jace, milling the opponent to death.

I know I missed out on something every time I see these types of comment.

Though not seeing much play, I still have reservations for this card. It's very good if you can cast it and the miracle cost is an assurance that it can be cast. I hope I'll have a spell where I can put this on top of my library from my opening hand and cast it for it's miracle cost. But that would be too unfair so I'm not hoping that much.

You are seriously underestimating AOS ability just because you consider her proneness to kill spells a drawback (many good cards has that). I hope you're not underestimating the players that utilizes her.

I wouldn't even consider her susceptibility to Ultimate Price a drawback cause by the time AOS ETB (whether the creatures gets exiled or not), she has already done one of her best abilities and that's prolonging the game. Also, I'm very sure most players knows what to exile when they cast her, it's not like every time we play her, she gets answered by a Doom Blade. I don't know about others and I'm not going to give a generalized percentage, but in my case 90% to 95% of the time I don't see an Ultimate Price gets thrown at her once she ETB, maybe because it's crazy to hold on to an Ultimate Price when your opponent has Thrags and Resto and you need to kill the control player fast before he cast his Revelation.

I'm not hating on DR, I like the card so much, it's included on some of my decks, and yes it's very powerful, but AOS -for me- impacts the game more. AOS just fits on more UW/x decks/strategies right now than DR and I'm seeing more Naya decks utilizes AOS as main, that's how good the angel is.

  • posted a message on What's the second best colour in Magic?
    As mono, RED is second......

here's my super long explanation that I typed while I was bored.

I've replied to many threads like these before and I use to say black and then I shifted to white but now I'm sure that the second best color is Red because of consistency. One of the three colors that can be built mono and still be competitive (white and blue are the others).

If we're going for the most broken cards (on Necropotence and Yawgmoth's Will levels and not the Power Nine or Contract From Below levels) argument here green would arguably take first place and white second.

I used to say Black because I was primarily a UB Control player back then, but now I realized that it's reputation has been helped by WOTC being clueless about the power levels of ability designs and slow to recognize/ban broken cards in the past. One example of this is Necropotence, it was allowed to exist in Extended even though it was pretty obvious it's a super broken card.

I did say white before because I shifted from UB to UW and also because my Uncle -who taught me Magic as a kid- had been playing this game even before there was a standard format and he always say that UW is the best combo out there. White can't be considered second because it's not as consistent as red.

But still, I prefer to rank colors as duals rather than mono so after UW, the second best color IMO is UB.

What you need for this card to work is more discard and more creatures like Misthollow Griffin.

  • posted a message on What would standard P9 look like?
They were called Power Nine not just because they were overpowered but all players should consider playing them all in one deck. If I have to make a comparison to this standard I can only consider one card and it's Farseek.

The shocklands can also be considered so it's power 11.

Oh, I've been waiting for that. Perfect example there, with the Orzhov Angels of the past and now the ones featured in Planeswalker Guide column. Now I have a much clearer picture how you guys tackle these things.

So it's really just them adopting the interpretations of the storyline community or they would come up with an explanation in a couple of weeks.

Now I know. My MTGS experience is complete.

The Drogskol Captain is such a waste. I really want the spirit tribe to work just like humans and zombies. I've been trying a Bant ramp deck before so that I could use Cackling on a DC.

This is the first multicolor set on Maro's new 6/7 year plan. Don't expect another multicolor set after 4 years. We've had Mono Blue Merfolk, Mono White Rebels, and Mono Red Deck in the past and those are good indicators that you'll get your wish soon. So for now let multi-color lovers like me enjoy this set.
