Quote from Planechaser »They did, they wanted slivers and they wanted them to look like that. Let Magic do what Magic wants to do. They have compromised with giving the original design a role even amongst Shandalaran slivers, so there really is no need for bashing.
No and no.
No, they did not make slivers. They just created a new tribe and called them slivers.
And no, WotC is a company. WotC wants to make money. WotC would want to get feedback on their product to see what people like and don't like. WotC is not making the game for themselves, they are making the game for the players.
As for your compromise: It reads more along the lines of:
"Hey, can I crap on your sandwich?"
"No of course not, what the hell?"
"Ok, here's a compromise. I'll crap on half of your sandwich and eat the other half. How does that sound?"

Nice attitude. Plenty of mythics that are worthless in competitive but are still fun cards (even in this set, look at body of research). This one (and rowdy crew too) isn't. Claiming that a card is automatically good and fun in casual just because it's not strong only makes you look clueless.
This card is crappy and boring, everyone will forget about it like they forgot about rowdy crew and archangel's light.

Millenial eldrazi? Kill them with big flame
Blood avatar? Kill it with big bolt
I wonder what big spell will kill the next villain

No it isn't. One thing is not breaking the game, one thing is being garbage. rowdy crew isn't good for the game.
We already have a vanilla mythic in this set. But that's a 50/50 vanilla at least. This one is 9/7 worthy of stats for 7. That's it.
