MaximumC posted a message on Comm 15 Decklists upThat's not really fair. We all want more people to play Magic so we can play more of it.Posted in: The Rumor Mill
I think his point was just that when he gets someone into Magic, he's not doing it because he wants his LGS to make money. He's doing it so that he (and the newcomer) can have fun in a relaxed enviornment. -

Sirius_B posted a message on Spoilers November 2We've been seeing way too much love for a plane that's not even 2 years gone, and in my opinion Disney's Hercules did greek myth better. It was greek myth cartoon fun, Theros is pop culture memes of greek myth, not fresh at all.Posted in: The Rumor Mill
And I bet you would agree that the Enchantress general should have been WBG to truly exploit enchantments' power.
I don't hate Daxos, he's a good card and something that hadn't been done before a million times. But I really hope the second general has notthing to do with recent sets and is powerful. There is such a thing as over-exposure and Theros, Ravnica and Zendikar feel to me like a joke that has been told way too many times lately. -

Magic Origins did not get this kind of blowback.Quote from Canadian Guy of Wrath »-Sets are always deemed underpowered before people play with them
Yes, every set has detractors. And every set has bad cards. But you cannot say that every set gets this kind of response. -

They went from three sets to two, and that caused a lot of condensing, and that caused space issues. When you design more than you have room for, problems happen.
If you condense 3 sets into 2, shouldn't there be more good cards instead of less? Born from the Gods suffered because they put all the good stuff into Journey into Nyx.
The set is bad and they know it's bad, that's why they put those ugly, half-baked Expedition lands in last minute to have a seller which the masses are going to gobble up anyway, regardless of quality.
No because a set only has room for so many good cards
Because according to so many on here anything good in Limited only is not actually good
OK, then why even design for constructed formats at all? Why even have a Standard when Block exists? Why even allow Modern and EDH to be sanctioned at FNM? So much of the game already revolves around Limited...even Modern Masters, which are REPRINT sets, have to be draftable. I understand that not 100% of any given set can be good in Limited and constructed, but for BFZ that percentage has got to be in the low single digits.

UB Eldrazi, GU Converge, and WU Awaken all look like fun decks.
I'm not sure how well those wll translate to Standard,
but I want to believe.
Limited is awesome
I have no idea why so many on here act like it blows
I don't dislike Limited itself-
I dislike the numerous atrocities committed in its name. -

ShadowFenril posted a message on Why is this new set so slow and underpowered? Is this really what people want?Shhh, careful OP, on this forum you're not allowed to criticize new Magic sets, Magic in general, or anything Wizards does. Even when we get a bunch of completely overcosted cards and junk binder rares and simple cards that used to be a staple of Magic are suddenly considered "too powerful", don't worry, everything is fine! Every card can't be a Tarmogoyf after all! These cards weren't made for you! Limited!!1Posted in: Rumor Mill Archive
How many rares are even left to spoil? At this point, I don't see how they could turn it around and convince me it's not a failure unless the rest of the rares spoiled are all playable. I'm all for fun rares but pretty much every rare spoiled so far has been extremely boring. Stuff I won't even play in my casual EDH decks. -

Everyone's tapped out during the mono-Red deck's turn and they drop Kiki-Jiki with 5 mana left open? Oh, boy. I wonder what their next card will be. The white/X/X deck has Reviellark in the 'yard, a sac outlet on board and plays a Karmic Guide? I wonder what they're going to target. I could keep listing examples, but they're all just as boring.
I think the problem you have is that you are tapped out.
It's this type of logic that makes an entire playgroup start playing control and feeding the popularity of these boring combos. Tapping out is perfectly fine when you have free things like Snuff Out.

Thing is, you can say that about pretty much any way of winning. The green player has 40 powers worth of creatrues on the board. I wonder what he's going to do? Oh yeah, turn them sideways and attack.
The Green deck has dozens of different ways to get it on the board: Big creatures, little creatures, Tokens, Voltron, Overrun, Craterhoof, etcetera. That's not boring. -

I don't get the worship of wotc's bad decisions. Happened with ugly slivers too.
Amazing Spiderman's Electro fans aren't many, and even then they have vedalkens. No need to ruin cephalids too.
