Actually, you are totally right! This is Miyajima, a small island near Hiroshima.
I live in Yonago, which is four hours by train from Hiroshima. Yesterday, I did this:
-Go to Hiroshima (7:30-11:00am)
-Witness Peace Memorial Park
-Enjoy the Hanakairo (Flower Festival) going on there
- Visit the Peace Museum... Just wow. Totally sobering stuff. Incredibly moving.
- Walk a few blocks and visit Hiroshima Castle
- Take the street car for an HOUR, and then the ferry to Miyajima island
-Take that picture with the giant Tori
-Take the street car for an HOUR back
-Go home (another four hours)
-Get home after midnight
That was quite a day, let me tell you.

Dec 10, 2008Mr. Stuff posted a message on First Blog...awww how cute!Hey, welcome to the forums. And yeah, don't let "Introduce Yourself" bother ya... Just, we've had some really, really weird **** go down in the past (*cough*TNeil*cough*) that is still in our collective memories, so to speak. I haven't read that thread yet, so I can only assume. I dig the pink hair, btw. My first thought when I saw you was "Ohayocon"... no offense, but you'd fit right in at a convention.Posted in: Daidream Blog
*Mr. Stuff is a big fan of anime and speaks of it at every given opportunity. Obviously.*
Once again, welcome. -
Mar 12, 2008Mr. Stuff posted a message on To quit or not to quitI have to agree largely with Hippy here. It's college. There will be "nerds" (and please don't take offense to the term, I'm one of the biggest nerds around and proud to say it). There will be Magic. They may not be the easiest to find, or they may already have a playgroup that plays on campus, but they will be there. You may not find them at first, but keep looking. The good thing about colleges is that most of them have lots of large open areas for people to just hang about. If you can find one person and just sit and play magic (preferably a few times a week) in some noticeable area on campus, people will ask you about it. Set up a regular time and tell them to come. This is how our playgroup got started at my college. There were three of us in the beginning, and it turned into around 15.Posted in: Psi's Blog

I've sort of been in a slump for the last several months when it comes to anime, ever since the season of Tsuritama, Kanojo X, and Apollon, but I'm gradually catching up. Shingeki no Kyojin is amazing, and I've been watching Gargantia as well. Even though the CGI makes my eyes bleed, everything else about it is lovely.
Wait, what? The R.O.D OVA came out before the TV series, is set chronologically before the TV series, and is intended to be watched before the TV series. You won't get a lot of it unless you watch the OVA first.
Also, Hourou Musuko is pretty high up on my list of things to watch; I may have to get on that soon.
The only manga I've been reading is Berserk, which I'm caught up on again. It's never going to end though... I've also been reading the Batman continuity... currently I'm making somewhat of an attempt to slog through ~ 40 issues of Gotham Central. I just made it through the "War Games" storyline. So far "The Long Halloween" remains my favorite.
I decided to check on things here for nostalgia, and what do I find... surely not three private messages telling me the clan has been resurrected? Get out of town; you guys are awesome.
Not much has been going on with me, other than I haven't been anywhere really, which includes back to Japan. Mostly I've just been looking forward to the GoT season 3 premiere while rereading A Clash of Kings and A Storm of Swords. I've also been playing the amazing Ni no Kuni. If you guys have a PS3 and haven't checked it out... have a go at it, it's amazing. All the cutscenes are animated by Studio Ghibli, and they had a hand in most of the art design for the game.
Also, Kakurenbo is awesome. Esoteric, artsy, hard to find shorts like that are kind of my thing, so if you're looking for something similar, I have it in spades.
And one more thing... I haven't done graphic work in AGES... literally since the last time I was here... so feel free to hit me up with banner requests or whatever. I'm super bored and I have three days off from work.
Action, eh? Fate/Zero is probably the best right now. There have been several good drama, horror, comedy and slice-of-life shows this year, but I can't think of a really great action show other than the aforementioned. Zetman might be the closest thing, but it has been pretty universally panned for being much too fast paced and not living up to the manga at all.
If you want something that's just "good", without regard for genre, I can recommend lots of stuff.
Here's the charts so far:
Winter
Spring
Summer
Edit: These charts leave a lot of things out, apparently. :/ Just google it.
Another has been one of the standout shows this year; I'd highly recommend it even if horror isn't your favorite. Spring has the highest number of quality shows so far... SpaceBros, Apollon, the new Lupin, Tasogare x Amnesia, Polar Bear Cafe, Tsuritama... they're all good. I can't comment too much on the summer season since it's just starting, but Natsuyuki Rendevous looks like it's going to be good, and if you like Moyashimon there's more of it.
I don't think you understand what "homeopathic" means. It is not just another cute word for herbal/natural/organic/whatever. It is a well defined term which refers to a process involving dilution.
Watch, learn, and understand.
It is literally just water being peddled as medicine.
Some of the summer shows look interesting, but I haven't had time. I've been reading A Feast for Crows, and I've been on a Hajime no Ippo kick... episode 66/75 so far. Dat Dempsey Roll.
I honestly have no idea what you're on about. What scientific ideas do you feel are held unfairly to be "not open to question"? What is dogmatic, exactly? Help me out here, because I don't understand. I spend a large chunk of my free time on the subreddit and I struggle to find even one issue that is cut off from scientific inquiry and discussion.
Perhaps real answers exist for some question, but you don't like them? I don't know, you tell me. Please explain yourself.
Welp.
Does anybody know what happened to Memnarch?
