Actually, you are totally right! This is Miyajima, a small island near Hiroshima.
I live in Yonago, which is four hours by train from Hiroshima. Yesterday, I did this:
-Go to Hiroshima (7:30-11:00am)
-Witness Peace Memorial Park
-Enjoy the Hanakairo (Flower Festival) going on there
- Visit the Peace Museum... Just wow. Totally sobering stuff. Incredibly moving.
- Walk a few blocks and visit Hiroshima Castle
- Take the street car for an HOUR, and then the ferry to Miyajima island
-Take that picture with the giant Tori
-Take the street car for an HOUR back
-Go home (another four hours)
-Get home after midnight
That was quite a day, let me tell you.

Dec 10, 2008Mr. Stuff posted a message on First Blog...awww how cute!Hey, welcome to the forums. And yeah, don't let "Introduce Yourself" bother ya... Just, we've had some really, really weird **** go down in the past (*cough*TNeil*cough*) that is still in our collective memories, so to speak. I haven't read that thread yet, so I can only assume. I dig the pink hair, btw. My first thought when I saw you was "Ohayocon"... no offense, but you'd fit right in at a convention.Posted in: Daidream Blog
*Mr. Stuff is a big fan of anime and speaks of it at every given opportunity. Obviously.*
Once again, welcome. -
Mar 12, 2008Mr. Stuff posted a message on To quit or not to quitI have to agree largely with Hippy here. It's college. There will be "nerds" (and please don't take offense to the term, I'm one of the biggest nerds around and proud to say it). There will be Magic. They may not be the easiest to find, or they may already have a playgroup that plays on campus, but they will be there. You may not find them at first, but keep looking. The good thing about colleges is that most of them have lots of large open areas for people to just hang about. If you can find one person and just sit and play magic (preferably a few times a week) in some noticeable area on campus, people will ask you about it. Set up a regular time and tell them to come. This is how our playgroup got started at my college. There were three of us in the beginning, and it turned into around 15.Posted in: Psi's Blog

Most recently, I've finished Panty & Stocking, Dog Days, and Catman. I found Catman to be the most interesting of the three; P&SwG was entertaining for what it was, but not highbrow to say the very least.
The ebi-fillet'o isn't bad, actually, for what it is. There are some other differences, like specialty burgers and shaka-shaka chicken (which comes with a spice rub and a bag which you are supposed to shake to coat the chicken).
You won't need to rent a car. I went anywhere I wanted, including moving to a completely different city, without a car, and I didn't miss one in my two years there. Japan has among the best public transportation systems in the world. You can get a bus, train, or subway from anywhere to anywhere in the country just about.
Have you ever had a shrimp burger before?
Be prepared for a bit of culture shock, although it'll certainly be less since you're there for a short time. I lived in the country (though not in Tokyo) for two years, so if you've got any pressing questions, ask away.
I'm watching 10 shows. I plan on watching Space Bros after it's done, too, though I'm not watching it as it airs.
* Hyouka
* Lupin
* Mysterious Girlfriend X
* Sakamichi no Apollon
* Sankarea
* Acchi Kocchi
* Polar Bear Cafe
* Tasogare Otome X Amnesia
* Tsuritama
* Zetman
It only gets better. The Transformers episode is what got me (though I'll admit it helps a lot if you're familiar with G1 and the movie).
Anyway, is there any love for Panty and Stocking in the clan? I recently marathoned it. I didn't enjoy it at all at first, but for some reason I kept watching. It was strangely addictive. By the time I got to the transformers episode, I was sold (said episode, btw was one of the best comedy episodes I've seen of anything).

You heard the man folks... I guess this clan, and anime, are just not for me. I guess I'll... I'll just pack my things and go then... *sniffle* T_T
Meanwhile, I've been on a binge of catching up with all kinds of exotic, lost and forgotten old series and shorts. Robot Carnival, Ani*kuri, Neo Tokyo, Winter Days, Doomed Megalopolis, Eternal Family, Hotori, G-9, Catman, Yobi, 1001 Nights, Sky Blue, Genius Party Beyond, Amazing Nuts!, Cat Soup, Tsukimi no Ie, ... all of that. It's... delicious. Like some kind of drug.
You are not alone. I'm a fan of shows like Zetman. In the past I've enjoyed Soultaker, Sadamitsu the Destroyer, Casshern and Devilman, and I've been meaning to see Guyver for a while now. I'm enjoying Zetman pretty well so far.
TODAY IS A GLORIOUS DAY. ARE YOU PREPARED?
Those words... I don't think they mean what you think they mean.
I''ve watched most of the shows so far this spring (except Upotte! - lolwut). Acchi Kocchi is simply 24 minutes of nonstop HNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGG. Gakkatsu was simply odd; not even really worth watching. The best so far remains Lupin, with Polar Bear Cafe in second place. Seriously guys, if you are not watching Shirokuma Cafe, get on top of it; it's amazing. For all you Code Geass fans, Polar Bear and Panda are voiced by Suzaku and Lelouch, respectively. I've got Sankarea, Natsuiro Kiseki, Medaka, and Accel World sitting around, but from what I've heard I don't think any of those will change my opinion. We'll see what happens by the time the rest of the season is out, including Girlfriend X and Hyouka. Aside from Lupin, I'm really just biding my time waiting for Apollon. * drool *
Just saw it. OH MY GOD. Blew my mind out of the friggin' water. Best looking series I've seen in years. I can't get over the artwork. 13/10 stars, would watch again.
