I was trying to get the combat step down pat, since I started playing EDH and there are a bunch of triggers everywhere. Then I got confused.
From the rulebook:
"509.2. Second, for each attacking creature that’s become blocked, the active player announces that creature’s damage assignment order, which consists of the creatures blocking it in an order of that player’s choice. (During the combat damage step, an attacking creature can’t assign combat damage to a creature that’s blocking it unless each creature ahead of that blocking creature in its order is assigned lethal damage.) This turn-based action doesn’t use the stack.
509.3. Third, for each blocking creature, the defending player announces that creature’s damage assignment order, which consists of the creatures it’s blocking in an order of that player’s choice. (During the combat damage step, a blocking creature can’t assign combat damage to a creature it’s blocking unless each creature ahead of that blocked creature in its order is assigned lethal damage.) This turn-based action doesn’t use the stack."
Um, what is the difference between these? As far as I can tell, 509.3 is the defending player confirming the order that the attacking player chose?
Can Kaalia of the Vast attack with another creature (say, pulse tracker), then have kaalia trigger another angel/demon/dragon come in attacking with crawlspace in play? I'm thinking that crawlspace only prevents declaring more than 2 attackers.
So, my current backpack is about to go out.... I need a new one.
It needs to hold at least 1, 3 inch 3 ring binds, 2 large Monster folders, and up to 4 deck boxes.... preferably with room for a long box or two. Any suggestions ?
I've been looking at Swiss gear packs, but they seem a little bit cramped for room to be honest .
swiss gear all day. lifetime warranty + super durable. I've been using my swiss gear backpack for 6+ years. I can hold my cube (holiday rtr box) in the main pocket, a couple deck boxes (ultra-pro deckbox) and a 1 in. binder (though probably cound do a 2 in one) in the laptop pocket.
Wow, I'd never heard of PucaTrade before this, so I went over to check it out. What an excellent service! Thanks for sharing this info.
How legit is this site? just so I have a second place to trade (other than here, since I rarely head to physical venues to trade).
And, why don't people just offer to double-check prices? When someone asks for a price, I say, "probably X, but let's check online (smartphone ahoy!)"
Or am I misunderstanding what a shark is (someone who deceptively trades in their favor with lower values for another's cards while valuing their own higher)?
I usually play with a very small group of 3-5 players. So instead of drafting my 450 cube, we made sets of 60 (randomly chosen) to run sealed. But I want it to not get stale, so my (undoubtedly unoriginal) idea was to swap 15 cards from the sideboard (usually around 30 of the 60 cards) for 15 from the rest of the pool, and change up the deck every week. problem was then I kept my basic architype and only ended up swapping 2-3 card from the new "pack".
Is there any ideas on how to build a transforming sealed pool that forces the player to change their deck? I'm thinking thing like:
1. I must swap 1 of their deck's colors every week (we almost always run 2+ colors)
2. another player picks the 2 strongest and 3 weakest cards in my pool (their opinion) and I must swap them into the cube, along with 10 other cards of my choice.
3. players can trade up to 5 cards with other players, then return up to 10 cards to the main pool. (might still have the problem with staleness)
Anyone else play sealed with their cube? I know I'm missing the obvious solution of use a completely new sealed lot each time we play, but I get attached to my sealed decks pretty easily (read: I like my bitterblossom + skullclamp)
When take possession leaves the battlefield, does the person who playing take possession keep the enchanted permanent? I'm thinking no, but it doesn't say the card returns to its original controller. is there a state-based check for controlling permanents?
Right now my favorite card is Seismic Assault. I love the assault loam deck, even though it has fallen out of favor. this is also the first modern deck I tried to build.

This is a really funny combo though. any other cards work well with saprolings?
Is that a definite not returning mechanic? Just wondering since I was surprised it was in m13.

seems about right though?
path to exile for sure.

no proc of rebirth? drop the aid. add procs for funtimes. (unless aid is for snaps/resto?) or is this for standard?
