I sent my PM a while ago, just thought I'd get on here to let others know I'm in and excited. I've got 18 cards ready to go out!

As promised, I am mildly annoyed for not reprinting the Top on a deck that cares on the top (see what i did there) of your library. Lazy deckbuilding at its finest.

I agree that this deck was the obvious place for it, and with the increases price it seemed like they might do it, but to call it "lazy deck building" is just wrong. Putting all the obvious cards in is closer to the definition of lazy. Be more constructive with your critique. Calling it "lazy" is just mean and, well frankly, lazy.

Do you all play the same game as me? I've never seen so many magic players complaining about drawing cards. Sure, it's an easy tack on, but it's a great one.

Not sure if this is the right place for this thread, but sure some of the art is a little cartoony. But a.) as has been said let the rest of the set come out first and b.) it's not all that way there are some of the normal styles you'd expect already spoiled.

Again though, this isn't really a spoiler of any kind, could be wrong but I bet there's a better place for this thread.

What do you all think the chances are of WotC doing OG Zendikar style treasures in at least the first print run off Dominaria? They could be played up as "historic relics of the past." Does anyone know the logistics of this, would it even be possible? Here's to hoping I open a beta black lotus at the pre-release!

I think people are being a little rough on this card. Sure it's not Cable coffers. But it ads mana on its own unlike coffers, and comes into play untapped unlike Crypt of Agadem. I think for mono black, especially commander or brawl, this is a completely respectable inclusion. And, except for weird corner cases, you weren't ever going to play it outside of mono-black anyway.

You do not want a truly random pack. Well, I guess I should only speak for my self. I don't want to open a pack that has 5 of the same common in it. Or do a draft where packs 5-7 just randomly didn't ever have any of the cards in my colors to start off with. They have a good system going.

On another note, does anyone know why they are spoiling this so early? Am I right that it doesn't come out until June?

I'm not really interested in this version, but it does get me super excited for future products. What's the Chandra or Lili boarder going to look like? I want some Chain Lightnings with Chandra art and a cool new treatment. Not to mention if they branch out into Multicolor. Think Vraska Pernicious Deed.
@ vandertroll. It's not much of a gamble, I'm sure you will be able to get most of your money back selling all the singles on TCG player if you really wanted absolutely nothing out of the box. You might lose 12% on their fees, but that's a $2.40 loto ticket. (if I can math, which I think I did right)

If it is demonic tutor (which I hope it is) I really hope it has new art. I hate that Liliana/Kothophed art. The original would be awesome, but I doubt they'll do that.

I am a big fan of old magic art, but I don't need it on new cards all that often. For some things, I think it can work (The original lightning bolt or ball lightning arts probably would have been awesome) but that brainstorm art just looks better than the original would in the new frame. An argument could be made for the Mercadian Masques version, but then that's not very nostalgic. And, am I wrong that this is the first time we're getting that brainstorm art in paper? I think it's awesome and would love a playset of foils (although I assume they'll be at the very least 15 bucks a pop) ):

As far as the poster asking to be convinced that the BS are is good, here's my stab at it. I love the tilted perspective and I get that some people don't like the visual pun, but I think it's pulled off in a very clean and un-cheesy way. The "brain" part of it is really subtle and works perfectly with the cloud texture. The face is ominous and interesting and the details (clouds, lightning, water, even the strip of sky you can see in the distance) are done really well without that look of computer animation a few newer magic arts sometimes have.

Standard is dying. They aren't fixing it and releasing crap boxed products and generic Core sets is not the solution. Better design is. Hey Maro! Go read Craig Wescoe's recent article. You could learn something.

Sorry, I don't know how to quote. Had to point this out though. That article has nothing to do with what Maro does. Efficiency is a development thing, not a design thing.
