You think the elf is bigger than dakkon blackblade? Hell no, that's all dinosaur baby.
Every time I go on here, I try to find something that makes the trip worth it. Tonight, it's all dinosaur baby.

Quote from DirkGently »Another very political card is "every instant-speed removal ever printed". "Do what I want and I'll kill his thing, otherwise I'll kill your thing" is a staple political maneuver.

Quote from Dechs KaisonI wish it were that easy. I simply cannot ignore the underhanded tactics he used to discredit and misrepresent certain groups of players. This article is going to be touted around by way too many people screaming "but Sheldon said you shouldn't use these, and if you do, you're a bully* and a bad player!**"
Misrepresentation number one: Real competitiveness isn't about winning fast or controlling the game. It's about winning reliably and getting better every time you play. The guys that just want to roflstomp a table are bullies and have nothing competitive about them.
Misrepresentation number two: I've written books on this in the thread already. Suffice to say he's lying about the argument MLD people use for why it counters ramp.

You seem to be missing something here. Is there supposed to be a Riptide Laboratory or something in here? Because that's very far from a lock, even a soft one. At best, that's a 4-card counterspell. Which isn't very good on its own, even in a format where you're permitted multiples of each.Quote from BaconoftheArkFor example any deck with U/x can run Vendilillion Clique, Mutavault, Spellstutter Sprite, and Mistbind Clique for a soft lock.

Quote from WingedkagoutiThis list would be far better if you completely left out any personal opinions, regardless of how funny they might be. Otherwise, nice job.

I've built a few phelddagrif versions that are 90% removal (excluding lands) and basically pure politics, and it tends to win a lot while still letting the game happen. If your goal is to let games develop then it's a good way to go, and it lets you do lots of amusing things ("I'll give you 3 hippos if you attack him with your ulamog!" etc). If you don't have the stones to play emperor Palpatine and crush a bunch of 7th graders, though, it may not be a great idea and group hug sucks imo, though who knows with 7th graders. They might like it.
my best suggestion for stupid-silly-bad-fun decks would be spirit/arcane tribal with oyobi, who split the heavens or the unspeakable.

It's a bit frustrating that GB seems to get two of the most powerful legends in recent memory, while RW gets bad french vanilla beaters, though. Have a heart for the underdog, wizards.

Also, both her and the other dude make no sense in terms of their goal. They both look like voltrons, but the work needed to make them powerful basically involves either mostly-killing your opponents without her, or casting fat creatures that aren't your commander, neither of which fit cohesively with a voltron strategy. But mostly they're just freaking BORING. They're essentially french vanilla creatures. And there's so much good design space for RW!
Here's an example I just thought up off the top of my head for a cool RW ability: "whenever this creature attacks, tutor an equipment onto it", emulating godo and stonehewer and caring about combat. Or how about "creatures your opponents control must attack, creatures you control have +2/+0 and first strike when blocking". That's R and W and caring about combat, and is at least interesting. Or how about "Whenever a creature you control attacks, deal 1 damage to target creature and gain 1 life"? Any of those abilities would be way cooler, would scale way better to EDH, and would make sense.
I mean seriously, wizards. They clearly aren't worried about accidentally breaking commander, because they already did insane things like printing derevi and prossh, and mazirek looks equally insane. Throw RW a freakin' bone here.
