What are people's thoughts on this card. I have had some very good results with it. It seems to be the aggro counterpart to condemn. I feel like it may actually be better though. It's clearly way better in aggro than condemn. It removes a fatty or wall and allows you to swing in. Condemn does nothing in aggro. Furthermore it can be played in control/midrange if need be. For instance ousting a turn 1 gobbling guide can give you time to get set up better for an aggro match as well as making the goblin guide possibly an irrelivant draw in a few turns. Just an example.
Yea, I'm leery of testing this guy. I can't afford one, and I don't want to play with a proxy longterm. Still he seems awesome and I'd like to include. What to do, what to do.
This guy is awesome. He is probably the only effect of his kind and is in a color that I love putting interesting cards into. I consider it pretty much an auto include in most cubes.
On a side note I don't understand people's qualms with proxying. My recruiter had been a proxy for multiple years until recently when I just happened to acquire one from my friend. I see my cube as my attempt at making the funnest limited environment I can think of. It's not "look at how cool my singleton collection is". If I don't have a card I proxy it because I'm trying to have fun when I cube and leaving a card out because I don't own it would probably make my cube less fun. If its a problem with hating the look of proxies then my advice is put more effort into your proxies. I don't see anything wrong with long term proxies. Just my two cents.
Insane. No, power levels in this set are frightening. Still, Dreadbore...
How is this card bringing up comments on power creep compared to other cards we already have.
This demon will not be played in a tier 1 deck in any format ever. Feel free to quote me on that since I am one hundred percent sure he is unplayable in tier 1 competitive decks. This card is leaps and bounds worse than abyssal persecutor.
Has anyone tried this card? It seems like its probably worse than duress, thoughtseize, and inquisition of kozilek. I was thinking of trying it though for a few reasons.
1) the three cards mentioned above are all stars. Targeted discard is very good and it gets better in singleton formats like cube.
2) my play group is always looking for more discard spells. We even tried Mind wrench for a while.
3) I'm finally giving into the black aggro deck now that there are so many one drops, and I feel like a discard spell that takes board sweepers, planeswalkers, and finishers from other decks is right up black aggros alley.
Concerned magic player: Hello. *pant pant* is this the CPP?
Color pie police member: yes it is. What can I do for you?
Concerned magic player: I was cruising the custom card creation thread the other day when I stumbled upon a mono blue demystify *baby cries in the background.
Color pie police member: oh sweet Jesus! (*muffled voices "roger! You heard it men. A severe case of color bleed.") I'm going to ask you stay calm, and for the love of god don't, under any circumstance think, "yeah I could see that in blue"
Concerned magic player: I'll do my best officer, but I'm so scared. I mean what's next a black shatter?
Color pie police member: don't talk that way! We'll get you out of this!
Concerned magic player: ... *silence
Color pie police member: d*mit! We've lost another one to progressive thinking...
In all seriousness these mechanics seem far to convoluted for what they do. Hex s basically a major rules addendum just to reprint cancel and use humble in some creative ways. Harvest is cool, but probably wouldnt be used enough to warrant a keyword. Finally reassemble is the best, but if wizards wanted it to be a keyword they probably would have keyworded it when they created it.
Edit- didn't see journey to the underworld. What of it drew a card when the creature returned to play. It makes it worse but more flavorful. It left for the underworld and returned with some knowledge, but at a price.
Edit- Edit- n/m it does that just in the opposite order. Seems cool.
