Nonono! I mean of course I want its price to tank, but it'll totally break standard. Last time it was in at least there was awesome removal like Vengeance and Betrayal of Flesh. Now just about the best removal is Dismember, which requires you to lose 4 life unless you're playing black. Removal's got to become one hell of a lot stronger before they can even CONSIDER reprinting this without breaking the meta. Squadron Hawk saw lots of play recently, and this is it WITH ONE MORE TOUGHNESS! They'll also have to bring it back as a mythic so's not to completely warp limited.
It looks VERY mediocre at first glance, but the only game I lost in the prerelease today was almost single handedly caused by this. It's awesome in this environment.
The Badlands is in there to throw off my opponent, to make them think that its a bye, and also to bluff Great Wall. Then they go on tilt when I drop my HP. I completely forgot Sorrow's Path! Wow, dang. Ugh.
Oho, sneaky! I like it! But I still think you should try and work in Sorrow's path somehow, and maybe put a Squire in the sideboard just in case.
Oh i got the foil HP from my friend, I traded him four Jace the Mind Sculptor for them. He thought that he had this idea comboing it with some blacksmith with floating rocks, and a bunch of birdies and pointy objects. We were both happy with the deal, so =].
No combo's as good as HP plus Storm Crow, so well done on that trade!
Awesome deck, and well done for your good results (but that's just what HP does for you, isn't it?). 22 FOIL HERBAL POULTICES? Where on earth did you pick them up? I have to proxy all mine, they're to hard to find.
Just one minor criticism - what's a piece of junk like Badlands doing in a tier 1 Legacy deck? Drop it for a Sorrow's Path. A land that can monkey around with an opponent's whole blocking scheme clearly trumps one that just produces mana. Wait till you see your opponent's face when, upon the activation of Sorrow's Path's second effect, you calmly HP your Storm Crow and regenerate it! That's what real combos are made of.
How's that for game breaking, eh? And to think they banned JTMS...
Edit: The second link doesn't work, so if you don't know the card, Google it. (I promise you won't be disappointed. This baby's gonna land you on easy street.)
I really hope goyf is printed in ISD. It would be the perfect set flavour-wise, and he (probably) wouldn't break standard because he is very removable. Most of all, I just want his price to tank so that I can finally pick up a few:D
But if he does appear, what are the chances of him being a mythic?
The thing is, "All your creatures are unblockable" is hardly insane. I mean, Deepchannel Mentor says close to the same thing in Monoblue, but I've yet to see anyone bother to play him.
1) 2 more power, 2 more toughness. 'Nuff said.
2) In an multicoloured deck he is more splashable despite the more colour specific cost, because he doesn't just pump blue.
3) He is legendary. EDH, anyone?
For all of these reasons he is much better than the mentor, although I agree that his price on the secondary market seems absurdly high. Maybe its because of his low availability? I actually don't know, but he strikes me more as an 8-10 dollar card at most.
Like your cards, and like the whole theme. I have just one little complaint. Mythicness is not an excuse for brokenness. Some of these mythics fell ridiculously good. But well done.
And there you have it. It's very aggro and if you can get an instigator down turn two and it doesn't get removed it can often win turn four or five. I've only run it through one tournament, (Legacy) and it came second, outpacing merfolk and only losing to bridge-dredge nonsense. I must say that the result was more than a little lucky, and I'm pleased by it, but if I can get this deck even better and playing in the right format, it could be excellent.
The obvious hole in it is the lack of Goblin Guide, but does anyone have ideas as to what else would be good in it? Should I be running Tattermunge Maniac to fill out my mana curve?
I'd also appreciate ideas for a sideboard... Right now I'm tentatively running Vexing Shusher x2 (looking for 2 more), Goblin King x 2, Guttural Response x2 (looking for at least one more) and Burst Lightning x4 (pretty much placeholders) and five mountains (same reason). Also looking for Fulminator Mages is that a good idea?
Loving the card design, the flavour and the effect. Dunno if he'll see all that much play, but he's definitely my favourite M12 card so far. Is it just me, or is a green control deck seeming perfectly plausible now, with bombs like Garruk and Vengevine and the new spider, removal with beast within, and this?

Thanks a million!
Would they really re-print Stifle?
