Is there a general consensus that (for the colors that are fortunate enough to have scry lands currently) that 4 scry lands + 4 guild gates + 4 shock lands is fine for a land base? Is 8 enter into play tapped lands too many?
Also, what about for color combos that don't have scry lands yet? Are the guild gates + shocks enough?
So I'm guessing the color combinations that got the scry lands will be the ones showing up, at least until the next set. So the colors with complete sets are stuff like BUG, and Grixis, while others like America, Jund, and Bant are still missing a dual land to complete their mana bases?
Thanks for the info. I wasn't sure if I should go for a more mono or dual colored route over 3 colored since I saw a lot of people saying decks wouldn't be as mana efficient and they would be a lot slower too.
With that being said, will 3 color control and midrange decks be the "next big thing" now that aggro is taking a hit?
With the revealing of the new scry lands, will 3 color decks still be viable post rotation? Will the amount of damage from shocklands and etbt lands like the scry lands and gates make them too slow?
What decks will survive the rotation? American control looks like it may suffer a lot, as will Naya Blitz.
Also, on a lesser note, will mono or two color decks rise in viability and popularity because of the new lands?
Is there ever an issue that comes up at FNM from using cards that have different art between sets? They are legal, but do other players question them and cause problems if you try to play them? I'm debating on whether or not I should just buy the newer art versions to avoid confusion.
Reason why I'm asking is I just built a quick cheap Mono Black Control deck for tonights FNM from cards I had laying around that has old art Nightmare, Duress, and Bone Splinters among others.
I sooo want to cast Angelic Destiny on one of these pig tokens.
Imagine the look on your opponents face after they tell you that you will only beat them when pigs fly and you proceed to beat them with a FLYING ANGEL PIG!
So how much will the Lorwyn ones be over the new Theros ones?
Art, preference, etc all play into this I would guess.
Currently on SCG Lorwyn are only $5 more, $30 vs $25. Will this trend continue?
Also references "Clash of the Titans", where the witches all shared a single eye.
Horrible? Maybe for Constructed, but in Limited it means that any creature that isn't currently useful can become a reliable and cheap card advantage generator. And that is definitely a good thing, unless this set ends up being ridiculously fast in Limited.
Don't forget Disney's Hercules!
Will be a late pick for sure, but I could see myself possibly using this if I have nothing else to spend my mana on.
I just got done viewing the rumor forum and see people complaining about the new Elspeths casting cost of six, and how it is too high to be playable. Now, what I am wondering, is six mana "too" high for standard, even with cards as powerful as the titans, arguably the best cycle of 6cmc cost creatures? Would the Titans still see any play in standard today?
I think it might be because if the creature is kill the auras attached are sacrificed as well. This makes the aura not a complete blow out to removal.
I'm no rules expert though, so I might be really off.
Guy already replied to this, but I just wanted to add that I feel that this cycle would be MUCH better if it was when the enchantment "died" (for lack of a better term) ie sent to the graveyard. Would discourage removal and would give value no matter what. Might have been too good though.
Edit* didn't see that you said creature only. I'm honestly going to guess that it's just whenever the creature attacks for each one. That's even if this is a cycle.
So the new Heroic and Monstrosity mechanics have been revealed, and I just want a clarification on this.
For Heroic, the italics and - mean that different types of effects can be done with it, as long as a spell you control targets it (I'm assuming that is what it will be, unless they can change that part too)? So for example, "Heroic - Whenever you cast a spell that targets ~ add 1 mana to mana pool" could be a card?
Will Monstrosity always be Monstrosity X, or for example will there be cards with Monstrosity 2 (which I will assume mean you have to pay 2 to make it monstrous)?
Is there a link to the new Nightmare art?
I've always liked Nightmare, and I'm glad it's back (assuming it is). I might just have to play mono black again.
I like the concept of turbofog, and loved playing it in the past, and I'm just wondering whether or not people think it could be viable in this format. If so, I'd like to attempt creating a decklist and seeing where it goes.
Due to the speed of the format and the amount of removal of all things (creature/enchantment/artifact) I'm thinking it may have a hard time.
But with the amount of cards in the format, surely there could be a way to make it work. Or am I just dreaming. Thanks for the input.

About the card, I like it. Not sure how good it will be in constructed, but this will be a limited all-star for sure.

Thanks to whoever can clarify this for me.
