I'm not sure those are mage-rings. To me, it looks like a single helix stretching away. Could just be the nature of the composition, but I really think that's one object, not a line of rings.
Perhaps, but it looks to me like someone looking into a Mage-Ring Network head-on. Balance of probability is that the portal/gate leads to Vryn. Unless suggesting PW of some kind, that would make the mage herself on Vryn.
Oh, if they are rings, it's definitely Vryn. It just looks like a helix to me. Might just be my eyes playing tricks on me, though.

That's cute. Protect yourself or a friend and punish a foe, either by sending something nasty their way or by sending their attacker into a meat grinder, plus get a surprise blocker.
When playing competitively power level is the ONLY way to judge a card. Sitting around the kitchen table, though, the best way to judge a card is "is this fun?" Personally, this one isn't my cup of tea, but other people's mileage may vary. This is a multiplayer product, it's supposed to be fun. I'm fairly certain this card will be a lot of fun for someone.
Been puzzling over how to make him either trigger more or maximize his effect. Only things ive come up with is punishing lifegain, punishing draws, and strionic resonator. Any ideas out there?
I'm not sure you really need shenanigans like that. Just put bounties on your opponents' stuff, let your other opponents spend resources to get the payoffs, and you just sit back and enjoy the payoffs. He's a political commander built to help turn your opponents against each other while netting incremental advantage. Anti-lifegain and anti-draw abilities just hose the strategy he's built for.
Oh She is so GOOOD! Have Lightning Greaves or Fervor on the field. Yeah only once, but put soulbound him/her with Deadeye Navigator and then feed him/her with Gilded Lotus = Infinite Colored mana! Not satisfied yet? After that feed Him/her with Walking Ballista for unli shoot. Oh it's just a beginning I have a lot in my mind to do with Him/her! It will be my new grixis commander.
Mairsil is a man.
To be fair, he's a pretty old character and that long hair makes him look quite fabulous.
But yeah, he's a dude.
Sorry my intended tone couldn't come across in such a short post. I was simply trying to inform, in light of precisely the fact you point out

Anyone else think there's a chance for Vraska to be UBG this time around.
I wish. Tezzeret and Ashiok aren't going green any time soon, so Vraska picking up blue or Kiora going black are my big chances for a GUB planeswalker...
Personally, I'm more interested in Liliana's relations with the rest of the gang after they stupidly ignored her warnings and are holding healthy survival instincts against her. Which just goes to my point. We all have characters we're invested in, and it's perfectly natural that they wouldn't be the same ones. Why hate on someone else's favorite character? We're a community, Magic should bring us together.
Speaking as someone who isn't particularly fond of Jace, I really don't understand the Jace hate. He hasn't had a leading role - or a card - since SOI. Personally, I'm more inclined to be happy for his fans (a couple of whom are good friends of mine) that he's getting a spotlight shined his way again. And I'm looking forward to a little more development for Vraska
All we know about Bolas and Vraska's interactions is that Bolas gave her a compass. It is entirely possible that she is a fully-coopted agent like so many others. Or he could be using her with a more hands-off approach - for all we know, as far as she's concerned, Bolas is "that guy that gave me the compass."
One little quibble I have is the giant sand storm. On the one hand, it would explain how the temples became deserts so quickly. But the actual effect of said sandstorm seemed a lot less dangerous than it should've been, and it blew through quicker than I might expect. Oh well, a fairly minor quibble ultimately.

Mairsil is a man.
Yes. After flickering, he's a new object that hasn't activated any abilities this turn.
Mairsil is exactly what Mairsil should be. Excellent Vorthosian design.

Fairly sure that was Theros.
Another good one. Enjoying the stories lately.
