@fattyluvboat: I'm just curious. Do spells like Remand and Venser, Shaper Savant that bounce spells annoy you too, or is it only when permanents are bounced? How about Pacifism effects?

To be more specific, mass bounce effects is what bugs me the most. Having to replay all of your stuff slows the game down quite a bit. Pacifism effects are fine because it at least gives you the chance to blow up the enchantment.

The reason you play this card is because it bounces their stuff, and leaves yours alone.

You're missing the point of what I was trying to say. Psychologically speaking, bouncing a permanent is much more annoying than blowing one up. I get that is "blue's thing" and it bounces everything except your stuff, but it doesn't change the fact that it irritates the hell out of me and other players. Is Rift good? Sure, I guess. I would rather just play something that doesn't piss the other players off.

What you want can not be done, since when you make a zombie deck you are going to most likely auto include all of the zombie themed enchantments anyways. The zombie type enchantments rely on other (zombie) creatures, so what you're going to end up with is zombie tribal rather than a zombie enchantment deck.

I don't really see the point of playing this card other than to grief people. I mean, if you need a reset button then why not just blow up stuff rather than bouncing everything to make everyone have to replay their stuff? All I have ever seen is moans and groans whenever someone plays a bounce type card, because generally you are just slowing the game down. I would much rather you destroy my permanent than send it back to my hand. It just feels redundant and annoying.

I tried playing this variant of Commander the other day.

    Verdict?

    It sucks. Stay away.

Not only does Commander got enough stuff going on in the game already, when you add another Commander it adds a whole truckload of variables and it just gets stupid.

Different people play in different ways. You should remember that not everyone wants to play wurm tribal. I was adding a comment, not saying he should never do it.

Right, but you were discouraging him from even trying it. I realize everyone doesn't want to play wurm tribal or whatever, that is why I said play whatever silly idea comes to mind.

While I am here, I might as well add a gem.

Palliation Accord is an awesome pillowfort (hate that term, I cringe everytime I have to say it but oh well) card that I never really see online or in paper magic.

From personal experience this strategy does not work very often in EDH.

Anything works, do whatever janky idea comes to mind. It's Commander, who gives a crap?

Why do people think that try hard is an insult?

Assembling combos are fun, swinging with dudes is fun. Not many (easily accessible) formats are friendly to playing combos because wizards stopped printing good (non-creatue) spells. One of the many reasons I enjoy playing edh is that i can play cool combos that I cannot play an any other format. Their are three main archetypes (aggro, combo and control) making blanket statements about people who prefer one of these strategies is dangerous.

.....because a try hard is an insult to someone who is trying to hard to prove something when they don't need to.

To be fair, if it is a interesting combo that takes time to assemble using cards not seen very often that allows interactivity for players to respond I think Combo is fine. However I think we can all agree something like Kiki Jiki infis are tired and boring. I don't think anyone particularly enjoys seeing that anymore.

Good thing i run plenty of wraths and other answers. With the draw power to find them Rolleyes

Well there you go then, interactivity accomplished and no one had to play captain cutthroat combo. See how easy that is?

I would find playing against sea creatures extremely boring. I play magic to have a challenge and have a good time. Sure krakens would be cool the first time maybe even a few times, but it would get extremely boring and monotonous. Decks that packs answers are fun because they make sure the game is different.

Thanks for the backhanded insult implying my deck doesn't present a challenge. You won't be bored when you have a ton of sea creatures pooped out from Omen Machine and Gate to the Aether. Plus the fact that the other players in the game bring other variables, I don't see why you would care to want it to be competitive serious anyways. That is the great thing about Commander, anything can happen so why try so hard?

Incorrect. They are meant to point out faulty logic. Any skin under getting that may happen is on you, not me.

There is no internet prize for pointing out people's faulty logic Jivanmukta, which you do rather constantly.

You can state your opinion as fact but no ins I play with enjoys the kinds if games you describe. Our main problem with you is your attitude. I personally can't stand playing without the intent to win its no fun.

My opinion is not fact, what is fact however is that I can barely understand what you are trying to say half the time. Seriously, is it that hard to take 30 extra seconds to proofread your posts? They are always a complete nightmare. This isn't me being a grammar nazi just for the sake of it, I can't take anything you say seriously with your constant mess of spelling and grammatical errors. It really reflects on one's intelligence.

I don't whine or complain about everything that displeases me. I only speak up if someone does something really crappy for their own enjoyment at the expense of others good times in a Commander game. Doing MLD just to try and be cute because you want to see people get mad is a incredibly immature, and a crappy thing to do. Thats all.

Also, I didn't realize combo players are like aliens. "Your kind"? Really???

Go ahead and have your fun by yourselves in your little combo groups. There is a reason why you have to do that, and that is because playing with "your kind" is a lot less fun in general to the majority of Commander players than playing with the people like myself who just play jank because it's funny.

It is awesome, because you can use it with untap effects or target other players Commanders if they are attacking someone else. Plus, the foil version is super sexy.

    1. One of the main issues here is that, you and others, think that combo players just want to crush people. This is inaccurate to an extreme degree. Have you ever thought that some people like combo? Who are you to say whats acceptable or not? I think Phil hit it on the head.

    2. I think you would be the most un fun person to play with. I'd rather wrestle a tiger. Please stop acting like because you make dumb decks it makes you a player people want to be around. Social skills are important.

1.) Every single experience I have had with a "combo player" as you put it, has been a negative one. Every combo player has nothing but the mentality that they want to end the game ASAP, and they get off watching other players get griefed by their combo. The combo player is fueled by watching people get mad at their turn 5 instawins. If you are like this, then why on earth would I think that is acceptable or think any differently? Go ahead and play combo, I am not preventing you from doing so. If I absolutely have to play with the combo player, then I will I guess. I would really rather not though. I prefer to play with dumb cards because they are funny, and infinitely more memorable than the guy who won with a Kiki-Jiki infi.

2.) How would I be the most unfun person to play with? You don't even know me. All you know is reading text through a MTG forum. Also, I am actually very fun to play with because I don't give two poops about winning. I play with super jank, because this is the format to play super jank and that generally leads to a lot more relaxed atmosphere. If you're going to be a jerk however and play with something that kills everyone on turn 5 or MLD the table for no reason, then of course I am going to say something about it.
