Pithing Needle - Too complicated for a beginner card. ("What on earth is an activated ability?"). Guarenteed not in.
Arcbound Ravager - Modular automatically nixes it from being in a core set. Guarenteed not in.
Armageddon - As much as the Spikes would rejoice, it's far too powerful and undercosted for what it does. Guarenteed not in.
Read the Runes - Some people have said that this can't be a viable option because instant card draw has gone the way of the Dodo. I think its drawback is steep enough that we could see it return. Possible.
Nantuko Shade - This critter won't be as scary without his Torment buddies running around. Possible.
Reiver Demon - A true Timmy card. A boring Timmy card, at that. Possible.
Anger - Yes they reprinted Valor -- in an expert level expansion. I don't see cards that have raminfications in the graveyard in a core set. Guarenteed not in.
Goblin Warchief - A much better lord than Goblin Lord. Who needs moutainwalk anyway? Possible.
Terravore - A cute card who was part of a cycle in Odyssey block. Mortivore and Magnivore were in 9th, why not add Terravore to round it out. Possible (though I don't see Cognivore and Cantivore returning with it).
Tooth and Nail - Entwine automatically nixes it from being in the core set. Guarenteed not in.
So that leaves me with Read the Runes, Nantuko Shade, Reiver Demon, Goblin Warchief, and Terravore. Out of those, I'm going to go with my gut and choose the card that I want to see. Red has been given a push (Incinterate, Mogg Fanatic, and Goblin Piledriver) and I think the Warchief will replace Goblin Lord for this core set.
I think the expansion symbol looks so weird because we're used to seeing Roman numerals with a line above the top and at the bottom -- like the VI for Sixth Edition.
I've never seen so many people pissed that a quality card is returning! I must admit, I'm a little perplexed too that they decided to change their tune so fast. And I'm also worried about the fate of Llanowar Elves with the Birds returning. It's nice to know though that their willing to bend their own rules when it comes to reprinting good cards.
Other than that, the removal of Stone Rain is surprising. Maybe they just didn't want to see two land destruction spells at three mana. The only other possible explanation is that another three-mana land destruction spell is coming back like Molten Rain or Pillage. Molten Rain would be interesting as "red hates nonbasic" seems to be part of the color pie (Magus of the Moon).
I just am dying to know what lands they're gonna give us. Personally I think we're getting the Painlands back but there seems to be a lot of support for the Onslaught fetch lands.
is it just me or does it look as if the Gleemox is subsuming the other Moxes?
i think i see the Sapphire and Ruby and others sinking into his gelatinous folds...
um... ew?
It's not just you. I see little sparkles for all five colors of mana sinking into the brain. As well as the main "thing" that the mox appears to be eating.
People who want to get Dragonstorm and such banned are just foolishly foolish. We have one of the largest, most diverse standards ever with tons of competitive decks, and you're complaining?
People will always hate the top decks though. I think the fact that Dragonstorm doesn't require any skill to play doesn't help it either.

The way I see it...

Winner: Goblin Warchief.

Terravore without Stone Rain seems less cool though.
Rare lands that produce more than one type of mana will always be money rares. (Hides Odyssey filter lands.)

It does on my account. How do you take a screenshot?
If I knew how to do a screenshot I would post it. Can anybody screenshot this?
