Well while i got no idea regarding the rarity, i still think that it should be 15 split spell. 5 allies, 5 enemies and the last 5 would be an enemy and an ally combo, and the way to see which combination should be used would be to remove the repeating color and see if the combination produces an enemy combination, like if you take :symw::symb: and :symb::symr: remove the black mana and you get :symw::symr:.
this is also the only combination that would never happen if the split spells where ally-ally and enemy-enemy only so it does provide with more variety i think.

well considering that crime and punishment both are made with enemy colors of black, could it be possible that we will see 15 splits where:
5-each share an allied color with the repeating color
5 more where each share an enemy color with the repeating color. Finaly 5 more where theres an ally and an enemy combination where the ally and enemy color of the repeating color would form an enemy combination e.g:if you take the black out of bg and wb you end with wg which is an allied pair but if you take the black out of br and bw you end up with wr which is an enemy pair.

i apologize for the typing but the keyboard is damaged and cant type some symbols, hope this makes sense.

hi i have been tinkering with a GBw deck for a while (sorry dont have the deck around so cant post it) and i have a good game against almost everything except glare, anybody else has a bad matchup against it? i can beat it no problem first game but after sb i dont seem to be able to win. Also does this deck handle well with only 21 lands? i was running 23 but have been considering cutting 1 or 2.

Mr. Herndon i got a small question for you, you see my friends and i have followed through the ravnica novels so far and well, we have kinda concluded that the character Feather bears highly strong resemblance to Razia, now it is our believe that Feather IS Razia and that her sentence had something to do with the events pre-guildpact(perhaps the battle being represented in the theater in book 1) or just post signing, now what i wanted to ask was how true is this idea? if we have been close in some way but you arent allowed to disclose how much or where is ok, but if it aint so then i wanted to ask if at any point the idea occured to you and why didnt you follow through with it? thanks.

    my take on it:
Boros- Chaotic Good: They do what they believe is good, but they dont really follow much of a code(a paladin must adere to severe codes and limitations, while a fighter might be a marshal in a town yet still go to a bar and get into a brawl *cough*argus*cough*)

Izzet-Chaotic Neutral: Their goal is simply the gain of knowledge but they do so passionately(again no order system, think a sorcerer, they dont really study the magic, they feel it an expand on it, they dont spend hours learning and relearning the pretty pictures in their books) they dont care if ther knowledge is used for good or evil, they just want to learn.

Azorius-Lawful Neutral: Law is everything, Good and Evil are relative, but LAW is absolute(dont think anything else needs to be said).

Simic-Neutral Evil: Was gonna side with lawful evil but neutral is more fitting, the combine cares only for themselves, their veldaken care only for recognition, they dont care how it is done or what event cause it (the plague wasnt their creation but they admit proudly of several other horrible actions without remorse and even some gloating).

    Orzhov-Lawful Evil: they are lawyers.

Selesnya-Lawful Good: No im not a communist(comunism is an utopian ideal), but the conclave are definitely Lawful Good, they devote themselves to their belief and carry them out flawlessly(the attack by the silent men in the book was because savra created fake silentmen to be her elite force), the conclave are devoted to the point of elitism, yet thats the result of extreme lawful good.

Golgari-Chaotic Neutral: Idealy they should be True Neutral since life and death arent bound by law, chaos, good nor evil, but the constant conflicts in the guild make it chaotic.

Dimir-Neutral/Chaotic Evil: Dimir just cares for power, they dont care how they get, who they kill or how many they loose, power is worth the price. they dont follow law of any kind they just persue their own ends without regard of the destruction they leave behind(making it fit in both neutral and choatic).

Rakdos-Chaotic Evil: Anarchy, 666, Apocalypse(the event not the set), take your pic, this guild cares only about destruction.

Im not sure about the gruul so i wont mention them, ill just say they remind me of the people of Rashemen for those who are fans of Forgotten Realms.

  • posted a message on [DIS] Jarad? Feather? Fonn?
Sadly i dont think we will see Jarad (too cool story wise and would end crappy in a card), or Fonn(actually quite weak and dispointing if printed), as far as Feather goes, i have to say caranthir nailed it very close, i mean if you consider story wise (feathers background and what she did to the leech) it does sound very much like Razia (actually im expecting her to be Razia and that the reason for her punishment was the slaugther of the cyclop race prior to the signing of the guildpact or something similar).
    just my two cents.

this deck is holding up pretty well (sorry theres no major events or even FNM around here so i cant give official results), the sb is still not good enough but im not sure what to do about it, any advice would be appreciated

Which character do you feel properly got what he/she/it "deserved?"
    [....]
So, of all the characters I (and Cory, too, for that matter--he ought to feel welcome in this thread) have put through the wringer, who among them do you think was rewarded and/or punished most fittingly?

Well i believe Konda deserved more torture and suffering (i would have tormented him with blazing irons for all eternity actually :evillol:), the entire soratami race didnt get what they deserved, they where to snobish for my liking and kept wishing toshi would just simply offer them as sacking fodder for his myojin or that hidetsugu had gone earlier to oboro and have the all consuming consume the place.

Since we are including mr.Herndon (who did a very good work on Ravnica i must add) I think savra got exactly what she deserved only because i loved how szadek just streched his arms and snapped her neck in a "your a puny mortal" moment Evil Lol

Mr. McGough, i must admit i havent read the books prior to the kamigawa books but still i wanna say that the kamigawa cycle was beautifully written, the characters where rich and in some cases higly humorous (marrow just cracks me up in saviors and i honestly laughed my heart out with joy when mochi finally had his mouth shut permanently by kyodai), i really enjoy it when a writter manages to really give life to a character, when the reader can actually picture him/her as the story progressess, very few writters can acomplish this successfully but you mr. McGough do this with every single page of the cycle, so thank you for the great books

thanks ix, i know i dont post here but this summary only tells me what a great book guildpact is and i cant wait to get my copy so i can get throught those lil details that make it oh so great ( best part in ravnica is szadek asking savra if shes part of the conclave and then breaking her neck, its just so evil and fitting).

EDIT: also thanks caranthir for posting this from ix (forgot my manners for a moment)

  • posted a message on New duals in pre-con?
well i have traveled to the main cities in my country (by main i mean the ones with stores that make magic available) and i have to agree with the idea that precons dont sell well, i have seen mirrodin precons and even older available in some stores but couldnt find a single red saviors precon (forgot thename) simply because of thought of ruin (the people who buys this precons werent the noobs, but rather the players who spend every friday drafting or playing constructed tourneys at FNM). I do believe that the new duals have a very decent chance of making it to the precons, the idea that precons is for noobsi snt really valid as this is an expert level and noobs tend to play with the core set first and by the time they feel secure about expert level they come to this precons more aware of the mana issues. also as many people has said already the duasl are meant to be accesible, while the precons will increase price, as sinlges the new duals wont increase much higher because you can always get a precon and simply trade the rest to a noob who would be happy for it, instead of going to $25 each, at worst i can see the green duals beingthe onlyones coming in precons since theres a common card that searches for a non-forest card in the commons of one of R_E's threads. I wont raise my hopes to much but if they do put the duals in precons ill just change one of my three booster boxes for a precon box and try and get the other duals by chance (im easy to please) . The bestwe can do is to hope someone can get the link for the precons fast once the previews start at mtg.com (if not sooner)

  • posted a message on Am i the only one who noticed it?
if you read MaRo's rainbow week article maybe you noticed the last part of blue where he refers to how tricky blue is, and specifically how he remarks on giant growth. that remark struck me as odd so i checked the gatherer and made sure giant growth has always been green, now i know there might have been effects in blues early days when it might have pumped creatures but surely not as much as a g growth?? so it struck me, could it be blue will get a freakin g growth variant in a upcomming set???? could it be RAV will have such a card??? so what do you think? its really been in my head for the last couple of days so if anybody thinks something similar please let me know
