You actually get access to a Modern Manabase until October for Extended....take advantage of it.
I would run an extended version of a Tier 1 Modern deck probably. Maybe UWR draw-go (i dont think ponder/preordain are banned in extended?), birthing pod or RDW?
As stated in the OP, both Ponder and Preordain are banned in Extended.
U/B/x Tezzeret with the Trading Post/Wellspring engine, Naya/4C pod will probably crush any untuned (aka every single Extended) metagame. I would expect a lot of people on UW control, splinter twin, or Valakut.
I cast Shuko, which resolves. I activateAether Vial with 2 counters on it, which resolves. I put Cephalid Illusionist onto the battlefield with that trigger. I tell my opponent that I'm retaining priority to activate Shuko's ability as many times as I choose. My opponent insists that he can respond by casting Swords to Plowshares before I can activate Shuko's ability. wat do
Why are you running Sparkmage? I understand with Haste he's better, but with a list this tight, why not run Goblin Fireslinger to bring that curve lower. You are racing against most of the Meta after all. Seem's like a better tempo play considering he can come on line a turn before Sparkmage.
Sadly, deathtouch damage dealt to a player will not kill them in the same manner that it would kill a creature D:
Is Kalastria Highborn's ability an activated ability? I thought activated abilities used colons? I was playing on MWS and my opponent insisted he could prevent me from using it a la Phyrexian Revoker
I feel like UB Tezzeret Control is being outshined by tradional UB control and UW control. I'm wanting to play a UB Tezzeret Aggro(AggroControl) deck, but I'm iffy on many of the choices. This is what I'm working with right now:
I've been under the impression that statebased actions are checked whenever a player would recieve priority. I recently saw a player attempt to equip a +2/+2 sword to a 1/2 creature. In response to this, his opponent cast a Lightning Bolt, targeting the 1/2 creature. He then countered the spell with a Mana Leak. Why is this necessary? I thought what would happen is this:
equip action goes on the stack
lightning bolt goes on the stack
lightning bolt resolves, putting the creature at 1/-1
equip action resolves, putting the creature at 1/1
SBA are checked, thus the creature lives
Is there an error in this, or was the mana leak simply a bad play?
