    Thanks for the responses, guys.

Since my play group is just getting into EDH, I'm not going to worry about being too original and I'll just go with Kresh or Rafiq (since I know that Thraximundar's sac effect would at least piss off my girlfriend and she'll end up turning the whole table against me.)

For a second deck for the LGS, though, maybe Jareth, Leonine Titan? Seems like he's not exactly the most popular cat on the block... That or Isperia the Inscrutable...

my girlfriend loves those new terminologies. sometimes I feel like I'm the only one who appreciates specific wording. but then again, the wording is still the same when it comes to the rules, so...

I'm with you. As much as I like the added design space from the shorter terminology, I think not having "dies" written in rules specific terminology on the card is going to cause a lot of headaches for people who run decks with lots of graveyard shenanigans... and I hear that there are a lot of those in EDH.

And as far as I can tell according to the article, they still plan on using "when x enters the graveyard" on cards that are effected by other creatures "dying". In any given game, there will be creatures "exiled", "dying", and "entering the graveyard". Thats a lot to explain to a new player...

Long time reader, first time poster.

So I've searched and found plenty of info on most powerful generals, most fun generals to play as, ect, but nothing on this, so I thought I'd start a thread.

Basically I was wondering, when you sit down across the table from someone or a group of someones, what generals do you like to see across the table from you that guarantee that you're going to have a fun game?

I'm asking because my group is getting into edh (we'll be getting the precons, of course, but for those of us who like building decks, we want to get started but don't want to waste money on decks that don't provide the maximum fun per dollar for our playgroup. (Casual to semi competitive, no group hugs because everybody is in it to win, but not at the expense of everyone else having a good time.)

Anyways, let the debate begin and thanks for any and all advice in advance!
