May I reccomend The tabernacle at pendrell vale? Every aggro matchup I play when this card resolves is a victory . This is one of the reasons I play expedition map in my deck : to search for tabernacle , wasteland or bojuka bog . With tabernacle and your disruption should destroy goblins and the big threats in RUG delver and Maverick ... Which leads me to another reccomendation from personal experience : Massacre instead of infest .
Why exile important spells when you can just pitch lands that you can get back with crucible? Also have you ever dropped a T1 trinisphere against a combo/RUG delver deck? It will win you the game.
Thats just it , every single game I played I needed the lands so bad I couldnt even play crucible because the amount of 1 land hands I got was outrageous. I would of been much better off getting an extra humility or moat . 2/10 games I played I had to concede at turn 1 for not getting a single land and having to mulligan to 4
Considering the deck was playing with:
3 Moat maindeck and 1 Tabernacle of Pendrell Vale, I doubt this decision to split Wasteland and Ghost Quarter was made due to budgetary concerns. It's very likely that he tested it to not run effectively with 5 such lands.
The deck has a good amount of permanent hate, and is supplemented by Leyline of Sanctity against targeting decks such as Burn, ANT, Tezzeret, etc. UW Miracles doesn't look like it would be too much of a problem with 3 maindeck Elspeth and 3 O-rings to answer Jace, and Humility/Moat to answer token production.
I see , I agree . Maybe ghost was for an alternate win con to blow up the enemies land base permanently
Chalice of the Void and Trinisphere + Mox Diamond and Sol Lands means that ANT shouldn't be a problem. Omni-tell seems like a bigger problem to me, because the deck won't be able to chalice them out easily. Trinisphere hurts, but they can still S&T into Emrakul/Griselbrand or Omniscience into later Emra/Grisels (though Humility helps here).
This should probably go into the Monowhite Stax thread.
This is true , but. Trinisphere cuts off Omni if im correct . And with the expedition maps we can search for karakas to get rid of emra/grisel .
IMO the brittle effigies in the sideboard should be swapped for something more useful . Maybe its just me , but I dont like paying 4 mana for the eff. Seems too costly
Im not sure if this is exactly stax you know? Kinda feels different without smokestack
I would actually be tempted to Goblin Bushwacker over warchief, simply cause of 2cmc, and all you need is 1 turn.
I'm not saying to abandon Food Chain, but i would just question how many creatures it would take to abuse it properly. Wouldn't Rite of Flame and/or Mogg Warmasrhall + Skirk Prospector be enough mana generation?
well , goblin bushwacker is in the maybe zone . Im still trying out different tech cards in the deck . if you would like to add me on cockatrice for a sparing match againt different decks it would help. as for food chain , I would say that all the cards you have said dont come close to the amount of mana that food chain provides . From testing : although an occasional burst of mana is nice , the sustained and consistent mana is much better
edit : testing tibalt as turn 2 drop
deck seems to run better with no vial rummaging goblin moved to sideboard
Seems like it would play like Dirty Kitty, basically like this deck except with Goblin Recruiter and Fecundity. Except i Think it needs more conventional draw. Ringleaders won't get EtW.
yes , I am going to add more goblins , like the mini "faithless looting" goblin . Cant remember the name right now
What is Goblinstorm you ask? Goblinstorm is a unique deck created by me and my hobby league friends. This is not your standard goblin deck , and this is not a food chain infinite mana deck .
Goblinstorm is an aggro-combo deck which aims to abuse Goblin Ringleader and Goblin Matron along with food chain to summon an insane amount of goblins . If anything goes wrong you can use Spikeshot Elder or you can sideboard Banefire .
<Here are the key cards of the deck:
Food Chain
Exile a creature you control: Add X mana of any one color to your mana pool, where X is the exiled creature's converted mana cost plus one. Spend this mana only to cast creature spells.
One of the most important cards in the deck . It allows us to play constant Ringleaders and Matrons
Goblin Ringleader
Haste
When Goblin Ringleader enters the battlefield, reveal the top four cards of your library. Put all Goblin cards revealed this way into your hand and the rest on the bottom of your library in any order.
Allows us to play the combo . Play Ringleader search top 4 cards . Sacrifice the Ringleader and summon another Ringleader or Matron which you likely drew
[CARD]Goblin Matron
[/CARD] When Goblin Matron enters the battlefield, you may search your library for a Goblin card, reveal that card, and put it into your hand. If you do, shuffle your library.
Very Versitile card , get a ringleader to continue the combo , get a stingscourger to bounce , get a Shusher
to stop control or get a piledriver to end the game
Vexing Shusher
Vexing Shusher can't be countered.
R/G: Target spell can't be countered by spells or abilities.
Usually we think combo decks get crushed by Control decks .
But that brings us to another unique card and one of the most underrated cards in the game Vexing Shusher . Force of will ? Shhhh Counterspell ? Shhhh
Goblin Warchief
Goblin spells you cast cost less to cast.
Goblin creatures you control have haste.
Another card that makes the food chain combo so great . Haste to win that very turn or reduce the cost of them for even greater
synergy with food chain!
Usually If you can combo with this already on your field you have practically won.
Here is a quick example of how the game plays out :
This primer is not finished and I will appreciate constructive criticism considering this is my first primer . This will be updated soon hopefully with
Matchups :
Delver - Very Favourable
Enchantress - Very Unfavourable
Zoo - Ok
In general, Savannah isn't really a card Enchantress wants 4 of -- one of Enchantress' big advantages is its relative immunity to Wasteland. I personally include Savannah as a 1-of so I have the possibility of WW on turn one with fetch->Savannah->ESG->Utopia Sprawl naming white, but overall you don't want too many nonbasics.
The biggest expense of the deck is easily Moat, a card which generates a fair amount of discussion in the community. In general, those of us who have it swear up and down that it's irreplaceable, and those who don't rationalize why it's not actually necessary
I play on MTGO where Moat is 3$
Do you more than 1 Moat in the deck?
I understand it could be kinda dead if you already have one on the field unless you just want to draw , but having multiples gives me more security
2 Cursed Scroll

slow , and I have my doubts about land tax. Maybe its not that good anymore
make that five , mox diamond useless in this deck , even turn one

Legit?
Lets discuss why this got into top 16 and if its currently good in the meta.
It has an obvious advantage against aggro , although im not so sure against u/w control , tezzeret , and ANT
also ,
3 wasteland and 1 ghost quarter or 4 wasteland? maybe he was on budget
But what card can be used as a substitute for flash?
Protean Hulk death - 4 Disciple of the vault - 4 Shifting wall 0 - 4 Phyrexian Marauder 0
