My brother and I have been playing almost since the start of the game and we always use the term "Bury." It's so much easier than having to say "Destroy target creature. It can't be regenerated."
But we also call "R:This creature gets +1/+0 until end of turn" Firebreathing. It's just easier.

Um, I bought 3 boxes of alliances when it came out at $60 a box. My brother bought 2 for the same price and my Mom bought a box as well for the same price.
Of course that was waaaaaay out there in the SF bay area.
(Fun fact (which has no impact on this discussion) : I pulled 8 Force of Wills while my brother pulled 6 and my Mom 3.)

With all the awesome equipment we have now, you could combo it with basilisk collar, sword of vengeance, and sword of body and mind, giving you a 5/3 first strike, lifelink, deathtouch, haste, vigilence, trample myr of death that mills for 10, and makes 2/2 wolves when it hits your opponent with protection from blue and green, making it impossible for your opponent to Aether Adept it, or find a way to give it flying and then plummet it. Ok, for the sake of arguement, lets say that purple is indeed coming. ( I don't think it is, but I never thought lightning bolt would ever be in a core set again either)
I'd be more than fine with it if they did create purple (and maybe orange too), but they were limited to just one block, never to be seen again in another set or block.
Also, what kind of basic land would create purple mana?
Ok ya'll, I've been playing mono red burn for 15 years, and what I've found is that there's always a way around a card.
For instance: There's Anarchy to deal with this and then you blast them with multiple lightning bolt s and fireblasts.
Or you can use Aura Barbs to make this card work against them. It's really fun when they have 5 enchantments out on their side and it goes off and you have a Furnace of Rath in play.
I'm surprised no one has mentioned how they combined the old combo of Verduran Enchantress with Rabid Wombat into one card. I used to love that deck back in the day
I, for one, am very happy about this decision. And it's because of the law of Supply and Demand.
I started playing way back in the begining and I have some of the power 9 (missing lotus, twister, and a couple moxes). I know people say that if they did reprint any of these cards, the value would either go up or down just slightly. I argue that neither of these options are the case. I think that if they reprinted lotus, the value of the originals would plummet, as seen recently with Lightning Bolt. Before it was reprinted in M10, a Beta Bolt could fetch 50 bucks. Now, it's around 10ish because the supply is larger. And I do have a couple playsets that are more in demand, but at a much lower price due to the larger supply.
So I am very happy with the current policy and I can live with having to spend more for older cards as long as the supply doesn't grow.
Well, if it's a functional reprint of an Alpha Card, the only card I can think of that needs to be fixed is Power Sink. The new rules (no more interrupts) really ruined the card's power.

However, way, way back in the day, I used to use this card when playing a monored burn deck as a sideboard card for when they threw Conversion down.
Also, and no joking, I would love to see Artifact Blast make a return with Lights. It so catches people off guard. I love it when they go first in Type 1, play a Black Lotus and I use a simian spirit guide with the Artifact blast.
Fire and Brimstone would rock. With white getting some counters, I would love to see white direct damage come back. Circle of protection: red/black would be great too. counterspell is needed back in blue. And I would love to see a functional reprintal version of Fowl Play for blue. It would give Blue creature control finally. Blue could make a Darksteel colossus turn yellow.
