  • posted a message on Best way to draft 360 cube with 4 players
    Hello!

From some limited research I have done it seems that creating 5 packs of 9 cards is a good option. It conveniently sums to half the cube with 4 players. Anybody out there have an opinion on the matter? In either event, do you just shuffle up the cube and take the 180 (in this case) cards to make packs when it comes time to draft?

Since I have never drafted a cube (but very excited!) I am open to whatever - just want to make sure I'm doing things right for my group.

    Thanks

    Hello!

I have a question for you guys. Is peasant cube possible with a playgroup of 4? If so, what size would you recommend? Any references to lists appreciated. Approximate cost of a decent one? I don't need the money uncommons right away.

We draft standard sets just fine and have plenty of fun and I think my friends would love to Cube draft.

    Thanks

I just made a deck with this commander and I love it. Off the top of my head firecat blitz is insane. Tempt with Vengeance is awesome also. I think you need some more ramp overall. Ramp is always good in this deck: faster commander, few expensive spells, insane with X spells

    Cheers

I keep seeing the same threads over and over while on "new content". The old "new post" worked so much better...Today I actually hit next and saw the same exact threads in the same order on page 2. then like a third of them on page 3. What's the point of this function?

+1 to the Spore Frog and chant. Also to the point that you need a lower curve. As i was experimenting I found that I needed to do this. Also think about viscera seer. Sac outlet, one mana, scry, it's awesome

Another suggestion- fleshbag marauder. ALL STAR! I'm never sad to see him. Puts himself in the yard and then later on you can choose other creatures to sac and replay depending on what is going on.

I will echo Chicagoland games, especially for EDH. You must refer to it as the "Dice Dojo"!, or at least the Dojo. It's a blast, nice people, good space, good staff. Singles inventory could be better though.... You can find me there most Tuesday nights. Are you a Northwestern student?

SpaceGeist: I live up North also and am always down for an EDH group!

My gf's sisters share a small 2-bedroom in the South Loop for 1,600 which includes one uncovered parking spot.

I doubt you will get as low as 1400, 1600 is kind of the minimum in my opinion unless you want to live in a really crappy building.

Have you lived in the city before? Is there a reason you want these neighborhoods? What do you use to commute? I ask because as a person who has lived in about 7 different areas, not including the suburbs where I grew up, the city is just underwhelming in every way besides "lots of places to eat, lots of places to drink, meeting members of the opposite sex".

My gf and I are looking also and had the exact budgeted range you have, and I found pretty much nothing we liked (we do have commute needs though). Either units were very tiny (700 square feet, what?), or didn;t have things we wanted like in unit laundry or a dishwasher.

I have since decided I can buy a foreclosed condo or a single unit house as close as 5 miles form the city for half the cost of the rent budget. I can't fathom paying close to 2 grand a month and have nothing to show for it besides a view (maybe).

This is my personal opinion, but from reading crime reports and working/going to school downtown for 8 years, I do not consider the area safe. South loop,West loop, gold coast it all looks very ghetto to me (especially since you're coming from an affluent, nice suburb). Homeless panhandlers everywhere, non stop reported muggings, rapes etc. Hey that's where the people who can afford the rent live so that's where they go to find victims. This is the nation's murder capital after all.

TLDR: If you want newish construction - 1,600 minimum for something that doesn't completely suck. As you move north you can go down to 1,400

Barnes and Noble came through for me. Didn't have all of them and not many copies but I did find the coveted Grixis deck along with esper and jund.

    No Kirin, you are wrong.

Pounding him into the MOFO GROUND is exactly what this guy should do.:nod::nod::nod::nod:

This is what my parents would have done to me in this situation. They worked different shifts so one would have had plenty of time to let the rage boil before coming home. American parents need to harden the heck up (naturalized American of many years here).

On topic: while I would be totally as angry as you, I agree that going to court will probably not end well for you and cost you more in the process. I would make some sort of court/police reference, see what happens, and then move on. Maybe let other shops in the area know that he is a known/banned thief.

Still nothing in North Chicagoland area. 3 targets and a Walmart. The Targets did not have the product labeled on the shelf but the WM did. However this place is super busy every hour it's open. Employees have not been helpful at all! I can wait I think but at some point will just get singles.

So, I was discussing this with my dad, he says Spanish/Latina girls are generally the cutest/sexiest/hottest. I lean more towards Irish girls (it has become a running joke at my job). What about you guys?

Isn't baseball pretty much this? The wealthiest teams get the best players and are in the playoffs year after year etc. Someone mentioned the Yankees as an example.

This brings me to my #1 - the Cubs. Mostly because of the fans. I also wish the Packers weren't so good every year but that's more envy than hate.

Pastimes has done a decent job of changing its overall atmosphere/image. They moved into a larger, well lit location and are bringing in more people than ever before which results in a generally friendlier, less cliquey environment.

If I want to play serious magic I come here for sure. If you want to just have some fun, I'm sure you'll be able to find like minded people after a few visits.

Awesome, thanks. Will definitely check out.
