Hello guys! I'm new here but I've been a long time lurker. I've visited this thread many times over the past few years getting ideas for my own projects and just seeing the cool stuff you guys have put together.
I just finished a major (for me anyways) project that I felt I had to contribute.
Now this project I made for a friend's upcoming birthday. She's an accomplished artist in her own right and is partial to the creepier more macabre Magic art, RK Post, Brom, and Wayne England in particular. I didn't want to give her something she was already familiar with so I chose Macabre Waltz, which I think she'd like without being immediately familiar with the artist.
I started this back towards the end of March and finished it earlier this week. My goal wasn't so much to make a 3D Magic card as I've done before. I wanted to push it to the point where it was more of a diorama and I think I succeeded for the most part. My knife control isn't nearly as good as many of you here and god knows my gluing (rubber cement) is by far not the cleanest but I can't help but be proud of the result.
As I was making it, I noticed it was difficult for light to get into the deeper parts of the thing so I made the decision to add some LED lighting to VERY roughly match the lighting in the image
