Angel theme? I have been tweaking an angel deck for over a decade. Maybe I'll actually build it one of these days. First I started with an enchantment-control deck to stall the game until Akroma, Angel of Wrath mana while using Weathered Wayfarer and Knight of the White Orchid for ramp. Then Avacyn Restored was released and made a ton of angel that seemed like I could make a midrange deck from it. Anyway, I'll offer some suggestions that might fit your theme, aside from the obvious Akroma.
I'm now glad "land" didn't go from riches to rags with as many times as this process has necroharvested. It seems to me they want to make sure this horse is viley plundered so they waste not another "You Make the Card." Luckily there is a small contingent of spoiled misery within the MtG Community that will seize the night and perhaps drudge rummage this skullduggery into a crucible worthy of the world. Alas, it is most likely destined to vanish from our memories, and forgotten will be the ancient travesty of You Make the Card.
The new take on an old mechanic is "Heroic" from "Radiance."
The Modern Masters hint is Stone Rain.
"Sacrifice a Planeswalker. Gain 4 life." (4 is counted as a number, not a a word.)
You should not confuse the terms deity and god. Ancient greeks named zeus, his siblings and his progeny gods. They named kronos and his siblings titans.
In green mythology the primordial gods (protogenoi) gaia and uranus gave birth to the titans (titanes) and the giants (gigantes). The titans Kronos and Rhea gave birth to the gods (theoi) while the titans oceanus and thetis gave birth to the oceanids.
I hope you get my point. Now I'm not trying to say kronos or his personification wont be the black "god" cause I myself dont believe the theros gods will be personifications of the dodekatheon. Just dont confuse the gods and the titans for my shake
Ketos literally means whale in neo greek. I dont say there were not sea monsters, but no the kraken as a huge squid.
http://www.theoi.com/Titan/Titanes.html seems pretty indicative that the Titans were considered a branch of Gods. I understand your meaning, but it's comparable to saying "my mother was a human and my dad was a human, but I, myself, am a son but not a human."
What does kronos have to do with a pantheon? he was a titan who gave birth to gods and then ate them. pantheon literaly means all the gods together, kronos was not a god, and he ate his children just to be the sole ruler. complete anthithesis of a pantheon if you ask me
So a "not-God" spits out God babies? Titanes are a sub-category of Theoi, much like Protogenoi, Daimones, Okeanids, etc. Just because he wasn't part of the Dodekatheon doesn't mean he doesn't count as being part of the species, so to speak.
And you pretty well assisted my theory. He didn't want a pantheon, castrated his own daddy to assume rule, imprisoned half his siblings, and ignored his mother, henceforth super selfish, which is why I made him my black deity/Planeswalker.
Contrary to the movies, the kraken is not a greek myth, its a viking myth. For no reason is a kraken an iconic blue creature to a greek themed set. Actually I cant think of any sea monsters apart from the sirens as a generic creature.
Damn.

Ketos is "sea monster" from what I have read.
