What are you *****ing about?
WORST case scenario, you trade them to sombody for its non foil counterpart
99% of the time, you can get more stuff on top of the non foil.
There is absolutly NOTHING bad about them. Since you can realistically get the non foil one in a trade.
I am not opposed to foils and I certainly did not want this to come across as "b!+ching. I just think that there are players out there like myself that would enjoy something different like old frames or full art as opposed to foils. Im not naive to the fact that you can trade a foil for a non foil plus value. I just wanted to know if others would prefer something different/new. Since 7th we have got foils in packs, wouldn't opening that cool new mythic in an old frame or full art be cool too
I would say the player base breaks down similiar to:
60-70% don't care about fouls.
20% like foils.
5% go out of their way to foil out decks.
5% hate foils.
I would like cards in old borders, though. Especially artifacts. Brown>Gray. But I would say there are definitely more players who like foils, and personally I trade for them.
Anyway, the only real reason I replied to this thread is 'people' has vowels in it.
Well thanks for your input, and I fixed the "people" problem.:p
Anyway the real reason I replied to your comment is foils are not the same as fouls.
Just like the title says I'm sick of foils. I was wondering if any of my fellow members feel the same. Nearly every promo is foil and things like commanders arsenal and from the vaults just are not exciting to me because they are all foil cards. What about people like me who don't care for foils can't we get something special once in a while? I for one would love to see cards printed in old card frames randomly inserted into packs the way foils normally would. Maybe a premium product that for once gasp is not all foils or premium products printed in the old frames. I know there must be more people like me, and maybe we should make our voices heard. What do you guys think? Or am I just being self centered and everybody loves foils and the idea of cards being printed in old frames is just gross to other players, whatever your preference I'd love to hear it.
Sorry about the wall of text, rant over.
Ok so I don't understand the trick withtidehollow sculler, I was told that I can exile the card sculler takes permantly if sculler dies but could somebody walk me through this? Lets say I cast sculler and have a sacrifice outlet like goblin bombardment. What do I need to do and say to my opponent for this to work? Thanks!
I think carrion feeder is the decks weakest link but it helps with gravecrawler and also gives you a way to get recursive creatures into the graveyard, not to mention you can just sac a dude to feeder in response to removal. I think all the discard is a necessary evil to beat combo. The deck looks funny on paper but after you play it it all kinda clicks.
I think I might be alone in liking Foglio's art. I don't think I'd like it when mixed in with a set of really straightforward art, but i really like the humor.
I hope this thread is in the right place. Ok so here's the deal most of my friends have quit magic but we still all hang out and cube is something that comes up alot as a way for them t still play without the financial burden of standard.
So our idea is to make a cube of only commons and uncommons and the big kicker is its only going to be cards in the old frame. So my question is what are some card suggestions for such a cube, like must haves. We are all new to cube and need ideas but its vital the cards be the old frame for nostalgia. Thanks so much.
That's the million dollar question no one knows the answer to. I think he will go down when MTGO redemptions go out but not by much. I do not see him going up but planeswalkers are just so hard to predict. If you want to be one the safe side move them now, if you can.
KMC's. I don't think it's particularly close. I've been playing cards for 13 years and have used probably every brand of sleeves imaginable, KMC's are so far and ahead better than the rest. They're always perfectly cut (unlike dragonshields) They don't break easily (ultra pro) and feel great when shuffling (unlike the rough ultra pro backs). Perfect sleeves imo.
This. Most of my legacy, modern and casual collection is housed in the super purples.
There was a time when standard, legacy, extended and to a point vintage all coexisted. Why does it have to be one or the other, modern or legacy? Why can't it be both, because of SCG opens?
I think if they were to do a legacy masters set like the modern masters set this card could be a shoe in. I also would like to state that the most recent printing of karakas is hideous, they took one of the most beautiful cards and turned into something very very ugly.
My friend has bean running counter slivers for years and he insists its good. He does well with it sometimes and that is only because its his only legacy deck and he knows it inside and out and has lots of tech. However despite that I think the deck is bad and the meta game has developed and left the slivers deck in the dust.

Nope, I like it too. Alot.
