But in all hoensty the best 3 (In my opnion) for tribal are
-Goblins (Quick nasty Beatdown. Boggart auntie makes the deck deadly)
-Slivers (... No comment. Just Use Sliver overlord as opposed to Queen or legion.)
-Fairy (Oona is a great general. Milling and token generation.)
then you also have Elves, Illusions, Soldiers, humans, kithikin, treefolk, merfolk, Giants...
Derp derp, vomit.. Best removal spell ever printed. I don't have to go Into details, we all play the format, we all know what's up. -13/-13 is just too good for one black.
Plowshares and Path to Exile would like to have a word for you.
Upon entering this thread the first thought on your mind is probably that in standard EDH the general must be a legendary Creature. However what if you were given a chance to take a non legendary creature and make it your general.
I am doing that right now. Composing a small list of creature that you may use as Your general in opposition to it being a legendary creature.
however this did pose a few issues. One of which is general hate decks. So Instead of the creature not being legenday it is Not legendary, however in the rules of the game. it is treated as a Printed legendary. thus anything that would effect a legendary creature will effect it and anything that cannot effect a legendary creature will not effect it.
Some play groups will allow it while others will not.
Right now my list is extremely small (Being the 5 Nephilims and Genesis. But what other creatures would you add? (wanting general power along with not being broken... Ixidron)
So post your choices.
((PS: My deck that I am working on building is Yore-teller))
ff7hero. thank you for the suggestions. I have never built a graveyard themed deck before (With the exception Of a Standard Grimgrin/Necrotic ooze deck)
If i had more money i would buy the graveyard theme deck that came out a few months ago.
i was actually really not wanting to run eldrazi titans to keep form taking my graveyard out of play but yes it is better to have a graveyard in my deck than exiled.
i don;t want to fuel a bunch of land destruction as I already go against decks like that and they aren't fun. For anyone and I don;t see any fun in playing them myself. (Unless i am going against a ramp deck in which case... okay i'll burn you to the ground. I may however play Numot as it is a nice beater and has a nice ability. Plus he flies.
Cloak was an idea and I will add in unquestioned authority and Darksteel plate.
Okay simple question If i were to attack with Yore-Tiller Nephilim it says i return a card from my graveyard to play tapped and attacking. So If i were to bring back a card like Guard Gomazoa (for example) Would Gomaza be attacking even though it has defender?
Hey everyone. Yore-Teller Nephilim I am aware id not Legendary. However some of my Playgroup will allow me to play him as a general as long as I treat him as a printed Legendary. So I am wanting to get a deck based on him as the general. My plan is to have A bit of a graveyard play deck. (since Yore-Teller's ability is bring creature back and attacking. So Along with graveyard play, ETB abilities as well (Like The titans (Aside from prime since I am going non green, given Yore-teller's colors)
along with that the second big coo will be blue. For control. Finally wrapping it up with White and red for support.
But in reality I am looking for help with this deck.
((Keep in Mind My fiends and I are aware that Yore-Teller is not a Legendary creature. But for eh sake of EDH. We are treating him as a printed Legendary))
Still, I would 300% support something like a 5c archenemy release that included, among others, Cershgoth, the Yore Tiller for 1WUBR and Ithris Lev, the Dune-Brood for 1BRGW with curiously familiar abilities.
or as stated. a reprint with them made legendary.
And judging by your post you favorites are the same as mine.
Contamination can be EXTREMELY useful in a mono color deck game if you have a way of popping out tokens each turn. I say pull of a board wipe then put out like Myr turbine. Tap for a creature. Then drop down contamination. They might have some enchantments but in reality you kinda have a lock. Since the others cannot produce their general or any other creature for that matter (or spell). spend the rest of the game building up. Not the best way to win but you win by default because no one can do anything. (besides you)
yes token beatdown with rith would be nice. But i would use an easier general to run. The dragons were never really great for EDH. (IMO) They just work the colors needed.

now I ask if wall can attack since some older walls say "Walls cannot attack."
